Halloween Countdown
-Monster Mash-
no.2: Xenomorph - Alien

As a fan of things like Metroid and Contra, it would be impossible for me to not have reverence for the movie that inspired them. (and in many cases just straight up ripped-off from, but I digress) Alien may very well be contender for one of the best horror movies ever made and while Aliens may have shifted more into action, it's still another masterpiece. Sadly, the rest of the Alien titles would drop off after that point, but doesn't really matter. The Xenomorphs has become forever etched into our cultural zeitgeist as some of the most iconic movie monsters ever.

So with all that said, why did I decide to lampoon Ridley Scott's work with a Spaceballs reference and do you really need to ask? I can't resist a good Mel Brooks reference, sue me! You can't deny it's far more interesting than just another generic image of a Xenomorph either! Besides, if you can't look at something objectively and make a joke at it's expense, then do you really love it, or are you just needlessly obsessed? Still, Xenomorphs while may be some of the best monsters ever made, they still lack a certain quality that would make them be 'king' in this sub-category~
