Character Sheet for Nox
Character Description
Nox is a living shadow from a strange, dark dimension. Because of that, bright light is deeply unpleasant to him, and UV light in particular is dangerous to him. It immediately makes him uncomfortable, and after 5 minutes of exposure it starts to harm him, black mist beginning to float off his body. It makes a subtle hissing sound when he's close to death. The longest he's survived UV light exposure is about 15 minutes, and his body was just about to give out at that point.
Personality
Uncharacteristic of most umbrakin, Nox is gentle and friendly, and very interested in the place his kind only knows as the "Bright World" - Earth.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes: Especially dark places, swimming, learning about the Bright World
Favorite color: Vantablack
Dislikes: Things that make light, peoples' interests being made fun of
Background/History
Like all umbrakin, Nox was born from a shadow darker than black, which naturally occur where he's from. When he first discovered a watermelon from the Bright World, he very quickly developed a curiosity for what sort of other things that world might have, and he now seeks out things from there - sometimes to the ridicule of other umbrakin.
World/Setting
Nox is from the Shadelands, a dimension where sunlight is nonexistant, lit almost exclusively by what looks like an eclipse. Things from Earth very rarely fall into the Shadelands, and are curiosities to the umbrakin that care. The incredibly rare living things that come through always survive the process, but don't generally live long after; nearly every food native to the Shadelands is toxic to people from Earth, and the umbrakin are generally hostile to them.
Body
His body is dark gray and almost entirely lacks color, only his tongue and the inside of his mouth being faintly red. Instead of feet, his legs come to points, which still support him just as well as feet would. His tongue is generally a normal size, but can extend to about 5 feet long.
Accessories
Sometimes he wears special goggles that partly block light, like sunglasses, which allow him to be in typical Bright World light without hurting his eyes. They were given to him by a friend from the Bright World.
