After a year of recovering (and Eggman getting tired of sleeping on the couch) Sonic gets his own room! Decorated with things that bring comfort and peace. Even a bouquet of lilies. (Shush I know they don't look like it wirhekd) Seems tho the flowers are bring back soke terrible memories? Dreams? Who knows. But it effected Melany badly enough to become the abuser instead of the protector.. He doesn't know why he got aggressive. He's not gonna talk to Sonic for a bit so they can move on.. Also! Because of that rough night Sonic didn't wanna be alone. So he slept in the only place he knows isn't scary. Eggmans bed. Based on what Melany says maybe Sonic isn't supposed to have freedom.. maybe if he just does what he's told he doesn't have to deal with things. Thus making him accept old habits. Thankfully Eggman will do anything to get his mind in more positive places. Starting with boundaries. He'll learn to say no. He has too. He'll just hurt himself more if he doesn't take control.
Now! Let's take a look at why those lilies caused such pain. Back in "Trust Issues" there were symbolic flowers. Those are lilies. Sacred items of Unicorns that represent purity. As we saw Sukos lilies were destroyed because of Shadow. Because of the lost of his purity he got weaker. His mind got weaker. Suko had a strong soul that no one could ruin. But Sonic is damaged. His soul hurts. Since Sonic has lost his memories of Suko, he doesn't know what he is. He thinks he's mortal just like everyone else. He often dreams of a world where he's free. Where he rules a special kingdom.

I'm glad we are heading back towards the present story. Eggman helping Sonic rebuild his autonomy and confidence. It was so sad seeing Sonic's face numb up when he thought Eggman wanted sex from him. Did Melany really hurt Sonic, or was it all in his head? He had a bandage on his face in the morning. Even though Eggman helped him learn to say 'No' I hope we will see more intimacy scenes again. I really love this story!
