So as part of a stupid idea I had, and also part of my experiments with beastiality themes with Madlaine, I present you a concept for mounts in TQFQ.
Usualy in comics and animes, you see horses, or some walking birds as mounts. Rarely there is anything else to see. So I had the riddiculus idea of making a rideable hedgehog. The walkcycle of a hedgehog is very steady, so riding them would be quite comftable. Thou as a om-nom-nom-nom-nomnivore, who doesn't eat grass or hay, maintaining them is quite expensive. As they need at least a quite big ration of meat.
A big and very soft saddle is needed, to protect the riders from the quills. On the other hand, your mount can defent quite well, if in danger.

So yeah. What do you think about the big "ridehedgehogs"?

Rodents of unusual size.
...well, I guess Erinaceinae of unusual size, but that doesn't sound as good.

Here's an idea: Giant War Pangolins.  They pull chariots into battle, rolling into a ball as an armored front wheel.

Oh hell no XD
When I have seen similar things in "Raya and the last dragon" I thought this would be so impractical and hillarious. Besides, that way the animal has less controll over basicly everything. It can't see where it goes, can't controll speed and direction and I could imagine it will be rather dizzy afterwards.

Ooh, giant, ride-able hedgies? You'd certainly need a well padded saddle, and you'd have to find mealworms the size of your arm to keep 'em fed, but they sound adorable! They're such sweet little animals, too. Or, well, not so little I suppose. But still sweet.

Maddy looks so cute perched atop her hedgie, too. And it does make a nice change from horses and giant birds, and sometimes big cats or direwolves as well.

That is actually amazing, there are giant quadruped hedgehogs on animation (like on that anime I don't remember and on Amphibia).
I guess the worst part would be that they aren't too fast (like horses, birds or wolves are) .One trope I like in cartoons and animes are rideable dogs too.

Well, I have a video of a hedgehog, and they are quite fast for their size. So I think this would work.

And a dog?
C'mon. We all know the dog would just ride Madlaine all day long and not the other way round XD

I mean... Compared to others animals their size since they hunt insects (there's even an old tale called "the Hare and the Hedgehog" that talks about that) and they are a protection build (spikes, anti poison plasma, irritating substance on spikes, floating over water, etc) not an aerodynamic (cheetahs, lions, hawks) or strong (gorillas, elephants, rhinos) one.
Maybe a resilient one too (due to their stamina, but not compared to horses, hyenas or humans)?
I.. know quite a bit about these little critters 😅
And I didn't know about your character that much, I was talking in general. I like the trope itself, like Clifford or Jake the dog
