This is the 7th drawing of Felix Yagablin, from The Dark Child Series. It was drawn on September 6th of 2001.

It was the first day of school (I was in high school at the time), and I didn't feel like going because I knew it would be boring and we wouldn't learn anything and would just spend the entire time going over class rules and the syllabus for each and every class. I felt it was a waste of my time, so I decided to go to the park instead and skip school without telling anyone.

I walked to the park over to the old time capsule, and I decided to draw this picture. I remember being quite proud of it at the time and thinking my art skills had improved.

I was kind of crushing over my own creation, and I wanted to make Felix as cute and dreamy as I could here. The goggles are done particularly well here. I was trying to draw my ideal "boy crush".

Felix Yagablin is an effeminate orphan known for pilfering and laying low. His only friend is Shaw Metrix, another outcast in the orphanage, mainly due to his deformities.

This page also includes biographical information that is cut off in this image. However, I will note that it mentions that he has 3 older sisters, similar to the way Kyaw has 3 older female cousins. This "youngest boy amongst girls" trope actually comes from my real life. I had a cousin who was the only boy and youngest among two older sisters. He was quiet and tended to be overshadowed by his older sisters. Some of that "shyness" has translated into some of my characters, particularly the rabbits, although Felix was never meant to be any particular extant species. However, given the long cylindrical tail and long floppy ears, I've come to realize Felix is most like a "cabbit", a term I heard used first for Klonoa.

Included here is some stats that tell us that Felix is 6 years old here, is 3'3", 98 lbs, and biologically male.
