This pic brings back memories of Hurricane Sandy when it made landfall close to my home and work. I remember being at furpoc and planning to spend an extra night, only to be called back to NJ by work. By chance, Tony Ringtail and a few others were headed back home as well so we formed a caravan and proceeded to drive through the storm at higher than normal speeds and even crossed the bridges after they were closed. (We were all first responders) I also remember spending the night at Tony's house as my home had been evacuated and was where landfall was predicted.

I remember laying awake listening to the wind and rain on the windows and the thunder and holding a raccoon plush (didnt have my normal plushy Woffie to keep company) and wondering if I would have a home to return to still.

The next morning I learned that landfall was made a little north of my house, about 10 miles north, and affected my work for than anything. Still remember the sights of houses destroyed and things rotting. Hard to believe that was almost 13 years ago.
