And here was me thinking that blue fox was being cheeky, but then I saw all the other boys in their underwear and I was like..oh never mind. :D This is a georgeous drawing, one of your best work. ;)

The first thing that went through my head was the "First Pipes/I've Lost My Knife" scene from Tom Sawyer. I expect to see a corncob pipe stuffed with corn silk appear presently, and later it's off to their own funerals. To me, Tom Sawyer is the work of U.S. literature that I would recommend to anyone who has never read any. If you don't mind my asking, what would be the 'must read' work of Mexican literature in your opinion? (I need a new book!)

Sorry, I haven't read anything by Mark Twain, I'll note it in my pending list. Actually not long ago somebody else had told me about read The Tom Sawyer's adventure, and I must read it in english because is a good practice for me to read in english and is by far better than translation. About mexican literature I would recomend completaly Carlos Monsiváis or José Emilio Pacheco. I'm not sure if exist their works in english translations, but the titles that I would recomend you is "Que se abran las puertas" by Carlos Monsiváis or "Batallas en el desierto" by José Emilio Pacheco, this last one is very short. It is not mexican, but I was very astonished to read his work, he's nobel prize, he's Gabrie García Marquez and his play is "100 años de soledad", I think it is easier to have a translated version, it is gorgeous, maybe the best play that I've read. It is not much that I've read in original spanish, I'm ashamed to say it but this is it, almost all my life I've read only book translations, because I love fantasy, my favorite authors are Michael Ende ("Momo", "Neverending story") and Orson Scott Card ("The ender's game", "Speaker for the Dead")....oooh and Isaac Asimov of course, I'm a great robots fan.

Reading Twain in English will be good practice. His English is old fashioned at this point, and the dialogue in Tom Sawyer is mostly in regional language. I have heard of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and " 100 Years of Solitude". I will also look up the others you mentioned. Gracias! (Je parle un petit-peut Francais, mais pas Espanol!)
Oh, and I liked "Ender's Game", but I couldn't get into the rest of the series.
