"Extended inspection"

That huge octopus has always been curious about those five-limbed things that stay near the surface, and today it's decided to pull one down to get a better look. They struggled in its hold, as it expected, but they soon calmed and let it examine them. Four of the creature's limbs ended in weird tiny appendages, while the fifth didn't for some reason... As the octopus continued looking them over, they eventually started struggling and making weird noises, more bubbles leaving them over time. Their face even started to change color! What an odd creature they are...

I know, and that color changing is so weird... If you bring them up to the surface, they go back to their normal colors!

Very weird… and they make this strange gasping sound when they’re pulled up! And they look quite relieved while doing so.

That's the weirdest part, they can STAY up there! They don't seem to have to worry about drying out or anything!

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: on a relatively sunny day out, a lizard was happily swimming on the surface of the ocean without a care in the world, he's always enjoyed swimming ever since he was young, but being submerged sometimes scares him a bit and he doesn't do it very often, so that's why he's just focusing on swimming on the surface instead

L: Some distance below the surface though, trouble is lurking; a giant octopus is swimming along, looking up at the surface and watching the lizard swim. They've always been interested in the surface people, and today they decide to finally investigate. They raise up a long tentacle to touch the lizard's foot, before pulling the tentacle away again, a little nervous.

S: the lizard yelps as he notices something touched him underwater, looking around nervously

"W-what was that?!" he shakes it off and continues to swim along, heading towards the shoreline that's quite a ways away for now while being extra cautious

L: After a few seconds, the octopus decides to really go for it... They reach up again, this time wrapping their tentacle around the lizard's leg and beginning to pull them down!

S: "Ahhhh!" the lizard panics as he gets dragged down, he thankfully took a breath before he submerged, very very scared as he covers his mouth and tries to struggle out of whatever is pulling him down

L: The lizard is pulled deeper and deeper - farther down than he's ever been - and is quickly face to face with the huge octopus! It looks him over while holding him in place, curious about him.

S: "Ahhhhhhhblblbl!!!!!!" the lizard whimpers as he's down deeper then he's ever been, and the fact he's brought in front of a huge octopus makes him even more scared, continuing to struggle as he's now terrified

L: The octopus doesn't seem to recognize how scared the lizard is, continuing to inspect him and reaching up with another tentacle to poke at the bubbles he's letting out.

S: the lizard whimpers out a lot of bubbles, he's keeps his mouth covered as his face is already fully red, slowly turning blue as he hopes somebody will come and save him from this scary creature and the fact he's super deep underwater when he's already struggling to go under as it was

L: Suddenly, some distance away, something seems to be approaching... A finizen! They quickly notice the lizard's situation and start to swim over as fast as they can. "Hey! It's gonna be okay, I'll get you out!"

S: "Mmm?!" seeing the finizen gave the lizard some hope of surviving, even as his face is fully blue from the amount of anxiety he's feeling, reaching out to them with his free arm desperately, his other one still covering his mouth

L: The finizen gets to the lizard quickly, and tries to unwrap the tentacle from around him. But, the octopus is strong, and doesn't seem keen on letting go of him...

S: "Mmmmm!!!!!" the lizard's eyes tightly close as he's already approaching his breath hold limit quickly, his face now slowly turning purple as he now uses both of his hands to cover his mouth, continuously losing bubbles

L: "Argh, let GO of him!" The finizen bites down on the tentacle holding the lizard, which finally makes the octopus let go. The finizen immediately holds onto the lizard with her flippers and starts swimming up, while the octopus just watches the two.

S: the lizard tries to hang in there as he finally feels himself going upwards towards the surface, he's less then 5 seconds away from inhaling water, trying everything to keep his air in

L: "Just a little longer, we're almost out...!" The finizen swims as fast as she can, and just barely manages to get the lizard to the surface in time!

S: the lizard gasps for breath very heavily and coughing a bit, holding on tightly to the finizen so he doesn't go back under

"Hah....hah.....hah....hah..."

L: The finizen makes sure to keep the lizard's head above the water. "That stupid octopus... Are you okay?"

S: the lizard keeps holding on tight to the finizen, still trembling with fear

"Hah...i-i'm ok... thanks for rescuing me...but that was really really scary!"

L: "I can get you back to shore if you want, I can't imagine you're up for more swimming after that..."

S: "I was heading back to shore when I felt something touch me... so yes if you could take me there that'll be good... ugh, I hate being underwater... I don't go down very often because of how scared I get... but that disadvantage is I can't hold my breath for a long time..."

L: "It's always weird to me that some people don't like diving... But yeah, I'll bring you to the shore." The finizen starts swimming back to shore with the lizard.

S: "I've just never liked it, I love to swim on the surface of the water, just not under it... I do need to get better at doing that...but all my friends tried to help me and every single one of them failed at doing that"

L: "Aw, that's sad... Maybe I could try to help? I've heard that a lot of land people really like swimming with finizens."

S: "Well...I've never met finizens before, and you guys do look pretty cute and all that...so if you think you could help me out then...sure we could give it a try"

L: "Alright! Let's find a better spot first though, don't want that octopus getting involved again. There's this neat little cove near here I think you'll like." The finizen changes their course.

S: "Well, ok then I trust you... I don't wanna go near that stupid octopus again... I'm still a little traumatized from it..."

L: "Don't worry, they won't be able to fit." After some more swimming, the finizen brings the lizard through the entrance of a cave. The inside is pretty big, and it's open to the sky, letting light in. "How's this?"

S: the lizard smiles a bit at it

"Honestly it looks pretty good... I think I may end up liking this, it looks very peaceful in there"

L: "I really like this spot too, no one else ever comes here. It ought to be perfect for helping you feel better!"

S: "Yeah that's my hope, I'm already at least a little relaxed from this..." the lizard is a little bit better, not by much tho

L: "First of all, you should start swimming on your own again. You're able to do that, right?"

S: "Y-yeah, I think so... I should be fine..." the lizard let's go of the finizen and starts to swim again, a little smile appearing on his face

L: "Okay, good, hadn't seen you swim on your own yet. Can't imagine you're ready to try diving yet, but we can just hang out for a while first if you want."

S: "Yeah im definitely not ready yet...I'm still stressed out from easier...guess we can introduce ourselfs if you want, I wanna get to know you a little bit"

L: "Sure! My name's Felicia! What's yours?"

S: "Nice to meet you Felicia! I'm José!"

L: "And it's nice to meet you too, José! I know you don't like diving, but do you generally like swimming on the surface at least?"

S: "Yeah, of course I do... that's what I was doing until I got pulled down underwater by that octopus... I love to swim on a hot day, but I just don't like diving...makes me really anxious..."

L: "I guess I can understand, going really deep makes me nervous... But just being in relatively shallow water isn't that big a deal!"

S: "Heh, it may not be that big of a deal for you, but for me it's a very big deal... just being further away from an air source makes me so nervous..."

L: "Well, working on being able to hold your breath longer definitely helps with that. By the way, what's your record at? Mine's 17 minutes."

S: "Lucky...I can probably only last like a minute if I'm honest, but lately it's been less then that like maybe 30 seconds..."

L: "Oh, wow... Yeah, that definitely needs some improvement. But, I'd be happy to help if you're up for it!"

S: "That's what we're here for I guess... I mean submerging in general still scares me, and after that encounter with the octopus, I'm not sure if I can actually go back underwater again..."

L: "I think you can, as much as you might not believe it. It's just gonna take some time."

S: José looks down at the water nervously, unsure if he can actually do it
"I don't know..."

L: "Maybe you could try just a quick dip under? Just a few seconds or so, you won't have to worry about holding your breath like that."

S: "I mean I guess I could try that, but I'll still be nervous to try that"

L: "I'll be right next to you for it, don't worry. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

S: "Oh...well ok then, I appreciate that...I hope that octopus incident didn't make me that scared of trying to go back under"

L: "I suppose we'll just have to find out... Go ahead whenever you're ready, and I'll go under when you do."

S: "Ok..."
José looks down at the water again and tried to calm himself down, it's taking a while...and it seems like he's trying to delay the inevitable

L: "...It, um... Sort of seems like you're just stalling now... Here, hold onto me, that ought to help." Felicia offers him a flipper.

S: "I'm sorry, I tried to go down on my own but I can't...I'm too afraid..." josé fearfully takes a hold of Felicia's flipper

L: "Maybe I should be the one to decide when to go under then, I think that'll make it easier for you to get it over with."

S: as much as that was gonna scare José further, he knew he had no choice
"Alright...I guess your right..."

L: "Alright, um... Let's just go I guess, you're not gonna be feeling much better if we wait. 3, 2, 1..." At the end of that countdown, Felicia dives under, and she hopes José will follow.

S: José did follow a bit, taking a deep breath and all, but he could only get his face under not even half a second before letting go of Felicia and going back up, releasing his breath

"I-i can't do it! I'm too traumatized and scared!!!"

L: Felicia surfaces right after. "Figured... Guess it's gonna be taking more than that to get you feeling better..."

S: "Y-yeah... especially after what happened with the whole octopus ordeal, I'm really scared now!"

L: "Well, um... What sorts of things do you do to relax? We might be able to do that here."

S: "Well, I like to take naps in the sun, doubt we can do that here... and being in warm bathwater also does help me relax, also seeing something very cute and majestic tends to also put me at ease"

L: "Can't really do most of that... I might be able to at least act a bit cuter, if that helps?"

S: José sighs
"At this point I'm willing to try almost anything to help me, so I guess you can try then"

L: "Alright, how am I gonna do this..." After a moment of thinking, Felicia nuzzles José, happily squeaking.

S: José couldn't help but giggle at that
"Alright I'll admit that's pretty cute...not sure if it's enough tho"

L: "Yeah, I don't really have many ideas on how to be cute..."

S: "Aw man...I wish there was something that could help, I heard primarina's are very beautiful, and I've always wanted to meet on, I doubt it tho..."

L: "Oh, my mom is actually a primarina! I could introduce you to her!"

S: "Huh?! Are you serious?? Well, there may be some kind of hope after all then, ok...let's do that then"

L: "We'll have to leave here, but she shouldn't be too far. You'll be able to stay on the surface while I go get her, so don't worry about that." Felicia offers a flipper to hold onto again.

S: "Phew, well that's good...thanks Felicia" José holds onto her flipper again, ready to get going

L: Felicia swims out of the cove with José, and after a few minutes of swimming on the ocean's surface, she stops. "Alright, she should be just below here. Wait here, alright?"

S: "Ok Felicia" José nods and let's go of her flipper, waiting for her to go get her mom aka the primarina

L: Felicia dives underwater, and a couple minutes later, she returns with a primarina! "Alright, here we are!"

S: josé's eyes go wide as he sees the primarina

"No way...a-are you serious?!"

L: Felicia: "Mom, this is José. He really needs your help to be okay with diving."

Primarina: "It's nice to meet you, José. Felicia's told me you're a fan of primarinas!"

S: "Uhh, uhh... yeah, i-i am! A huge fan!" José's tail wags very happily
"I don't believe it, it's actaully a primarina!"

L: Primarina: "So, how about we give this a shot? I imagine you'll be doing better than with just Felicia."

S: "Heh..." José couldn't help but blush a tad at the primarina with how beautiful they are, smiling and nodding
"Yeah! I suppose we can try then!"

L: The primarina holds José's hand, giving him a smile back. "Whenever you feel ready, we'll head for a dive."

While Felicia almost says she already tried that, she decides not to say anything and just watch.

S: that makes José blush a bit more when the primarina held his hand

"I-i still don't know if I can dive, but I suppose with you here it has to help me in someway"

L: Felicia holds José's other hand. "With both of us helping you out, I bet you'll finally start feeling better!"

S: José tries to keep his composure and not scream out of pure joy, blushing just a bit more before nodding

"I-i-i hope so..."

L: Primarina: "Actually, how about we just do a countdown and then see how it goes?"

Felicia: "I did already try that, but I get the feeling it'd go better this time."

S: "Y-yeah..." José was clearly still nervous, he gives the primarina a big hug to try and calm himself down, having always wanted to do that

L: The primarina laughs, and gives him a hug as well. "Alright, here we go. 3, 2, 1..." Both she and Felicia dive under, hoping José will follow.

S: keeping his hug around primarina, José takes a deep breath, holding it in fearfully and actaully submerges with everyone, he's still scared but he's doing fine for the most part with primarina with him

L: Felicia: "Hey, there you go!"

Primarina: "Wasn't so hard, right?"

S: José looks up at the primarina and Felicia with a very worried expression, constantly whimpering out bubbles from nose and mouth, it seems the octopus incident really made him afraid of being underwater truly, but he did at least submerge for the primarina

L: Felicia: "Don't worry, if that octopus shows up again, we'll be able to get you away."

Primarina: "Ah, that's why you're so scared, you must have had a run in with them..."

S: "Mmhm mmhm!" José nods his head, he trembles in fear, looking around all over to make sure that octopus isn't here, all this making his face fully red as he wants air pretty badly too, it's clear he's not enjoying being underwater

L: Recognizing José wants to surface, Primarina and Felicia surface with him.

Primarina: "Maybe we shouldn't have you be out in the ocean for this..."

Felicia: "We could head back to that cove, if that helps?"

S: José gasps in the air heavily
"Look I appreciate you guys trying, but even seeing a primarina isn't helping me that much, that octopus really scared me out of trying to submerge, I only went under because I was still starstruck at the primarina"

L: Felicia: "Well, at least that was longer than that first time..."

Primarina: "Maybe we ought to stop, he's been through enough..."

S: "Yes, I have...and as much as I wanna get better at being underwater, I'm just way too traumatized from that octopus incident and I really don't want it to happen again..."

L: Felicia: "Alright, we'll get you to the shore, for real this time."

Primarina: "We can try again some other time, if you want."

S: José sighs heavily, deep down he wants to try again and keep going so he can get better, but the octopus consumes his brain inside him, so he nods his head sadly

L: Felicia: "Sorry it couldn't work out..." She and the primarina help José get back to shore.

S: "It's fine I guess..." he continues to sigh heavily

L: The group gets to shore safely.

Felicia: "Guess we'll see you again sometime."

Primarina: "We live around here, so it shouldn't be hard for you to find us again."

S: "I really don't wanna be leave you so soon primarina, I just can't..."

L: Primarina: "I'm fine with sticking around here for a while, if you want. I kind of don't want to leave you so soon either..."

Felicia: "Same here, I feel bad that I couldn't help..."

S: "Yeah I don't want you guys to leave... I'll be very sad... would love if you stuck around"

L: Felicia: "Alright, we can just hang out with you for a while!"

Primarina: "Maybe a couple hours, that should be fine."

S: "Yeah that'll be nice, thank you so much"

L: Primarina: "It's definitely nice to relax with someone from the land, I don't get that opportunity very often."

Felicia: "Neither do I, it's always pretty cool!"

S: "Most definitely, it does feel pretty nice, I'm still pretty sad I'm scared of submerging, I've always wanted to explore down there ever since I was little, but I couldn't bring myself to do it"

L: Felicia: "I'm sure we'll figure something out eventually, maybe once it's been a while..."

Primarina: "Getting back at that octopus would definitely make you feel better, but that thing's huge... There'd need to be more of us to take it on."

S: "I so wanna get revenge on that stupid octopus...I wish the loch Ness monster existed or something to help us out, heh..."

L: Felicia: "Ha, I wish! It'd be SO cool to meet them!"

Primarina: "Even IF they were real, I doubt they'd be anywhere near here."

S: "Honestly yeah it would be pretty cool! Even I would wanna meet one"

little do all of them know, they may get their wish... something is lingering close by, but it feels like a more friendly presence

L: Felicia: "I suppose you can never really know whether something DOESN'T exist, huh?"

Primarina is looking out over the water. "...There's a dark spot out there that wasn't there before..."

S: "Huh? What do you mean?" José looks at the spot as well, getting a bit scared at it
"Oh no, i-i hope it's not that octopus again!!! Ahhh!"

L: Felicia looks at it too. "It's okay, it's a bit smaller than the octopus!"

As the spot gets a bit darker, the head of what's there surfaces on a long neck... By sheer coincidence, it's the Loch Ness monster!

S: the loch Ness monster seems to be gasping for breath, wearing a pair of swimming goggles made for them

Loch Ness - "Phew, nice to get a breath after all that" they notice the group
"Oh, well hello there!"

José - "What....the...."

L: Felicia: "Y-you're real!?"

Primarina: "I...Um... W-wow. Can't say I expected to ever meet you!"

S: "Y-yeah!"

Loch Ness - "Ah well, I'm typically pretty shy around people, but I'm trying to come out of my shell and all that, it's nice to meet you!"

L: Felicia: "We were actually just talking about you! We could use your help with something, if you don't mind."

Primarina: "There's a huge octopus near here that's been terrorizing people, including José here. Maybe you could do something to make it leave?"

S: José - "Yeah, they almost drowned me!"

Loch Ness - "Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that! I would be more then happy to help you guys out, I thought I sent all those octopuses away, but I guess not... the disadvantage I have tho is sadly I can't actually breathe underwater, but I can stay under for a long time so it shouldn't be a problem!"

L: Felicia: "I always wondered whether you could breathe underwater... Heh, mom always thought you could!"

Primarina: "Well, apparently I'm wrong. Still, I don't imagine that'll be much issue."

S: "Heh heh, nope sadly I can't... I don't need these swim goggles as I could see fine underwater, but I like to wear them anyways...most people I've met thing I look pretty cute with them on, what do you guys think?"

José- "Yeah! I think you do look cute in them!"

L: Felicia: "Yep, definitely!"

Primarina: "They certainly do look good on you!"

S: the Loch Ness monster blushes a tad

Loch Ness - "Thanks guys, I appreciate that...anyways, I'll take care of that octopus for you right away! You guys care to watch? Just make sure to keep your distance away so you don't get hurt, I can really put up a fight!"

L: Felicia: "That'd be awesome, yeah!"

The primarina tries to hide her excitement at the thought of getting to watch giants fight. "I'd definitely be up for that!"

S: "Awesome! Hope you guys can hold your breathes long enough for the whole show!"

José - "Uh oh...that means I won't be able to watch... not only do I suck at breath holding but I'm still scared about diving in general... even tho I really wanna see this fight in action too..."

L: Felicia: "Yeah, he doesn't like diving... Do you think you could try to keep the fight on the surface?"

Primarina: "I doubt that'll be possible... José's just not gonna have much choice with this."

S: Loch Ness - "Yeah, unfortunately I'll have to do the fight underwater, I'll have a lot more freedom down there..."

José - "Awww man...this sucks!" José sighs heavily and tears up

L: Primarina: "Maybe seeing them fight will help distract you from being scared?"

Felicia: "Yeah, it might be cool enough that you feel better!"

S: Loch Ness - "Hey that may work, trust me you'll want to see this fight, I'll be great!"

José - "I suppose that's possible... but I don't know"

L: Felicia: "This is gonna be a once in a lifetime thing, José! They said they thought they'd gotten rid of every giant octopus, this might be the last one!"

Primarina: "Yep, there's a chance this'll be the only time we'll get to see a fight like this coming one."

S: Loch Ness - "Exactly! You won't wanna miss this opportunity to see me fight this giant octopus!"

José - "...I suppose that's true, ugh...I can't let my stupid fears get to me now! I have to see this fight!"

L: Felicia: "Alright, let's get going before the octopus gets too far!" She offers José a flipper to hold onto.

S: José was very hesitate about this, but when he turns to the Loch Ness monster he sees them smiling and nodding encouragingly, which made him feel better enough to hold onto Felicia's flipper again

L: Primarina: "Okay, let's go find that octopus again... Can't imagine that'll be hard to do, with the Loch Ness monster helping us out." She and Felicia start swimming out with José again.

S: the Loch Ness monster follows them as well, keeping their head above the water for now...eventually the Loch Ness monster stops them and senses the octopus nearby

Loch Ness - "I knew it! That octopus is still around! They should be just a couple dozen feet below us right here!"

L: Felicia: "Nice, it's time! We'd better get some distance before this starts, though."

Primarina: "Yeah, I don't want to be anywhere near this while it's happening."

S: José - "Oh dear...i-its time to go down...I'm so scared!!" José starts to shake a little from fear as he knows he'll have to go quite a ways underwater to see all of this

L: Felicia: "It's gonna be okay, we're gonna have a pretty sweet show to watch down there!"

Primarina: "And hopefully it'll be ending with you feeling better, as well."

S: Loch Ness - "Hey don't sweat it! I'll be ok! Y'know what... if you come down there with everyone else to watch the show, I'll make sure you can attack the octopus yourself once I got it under control, how about that??"

José - "....what??? Are you serious??"

L: Felicia: "Woah, really!?"

The primarina can't hide her excitement any more. "That's awesome! I want to give it a few hits too!" Felicia giggles at that.

S: Loch Ness - "Yeah! You all can! What did you say José? Does that boost your confidence just enough to come?"

José - "W-well...I guess so! I cannot say no to hitting that octopus who almost drowned me!"

L: Felicia: "Alright, let's do this!"

Primarina: "Let us know when you're ready, José!"

S: the Loch Ness monster smiles, giving José a little nuzzle with their long neck

José giggles a tad
"I guess I better get on with it soon...so let's just do this"

L: Primarina: "Then let's get going!" She dives under.

Felicia: "Deep breath, José!" She gives José a chance to hold his breath, then dives under as well.

S: clutching tightly to Felicia's fin, José takes a deep breath and holds it before he submerges underwater with them

the Loch Ness monster takes a single big gasp before diving underwater as well, swimming ahead of the group

Loch Ness - "Good job! Follow me!"

L: Felicia and the primarina follow the Loch Ness monster. Below, there's a shadow moving around... Indeed, the giant octopus is there waiting for them.

Primarina: "Jeez, never been this close to one before..."

S: José - "Ahhblh!" José gets scared as he sees the octopus again, getting really scared again

Loch Ness - "Don't worry, I'll get them! They won't know what's coming!" the Loch Ness monster charges forward towards the giant octopus

L: Primarina: "Relax, I'm sure he's got this..."

The octopus, seeing the Loch Ness monster approaching, tries to hit them with its tentacles, knowing it's going to have to fight.

S: josé's face is already red from holding his breath, but he tries to hang on and watch the show unfold

the Loch Ness monster easily dodges the attack, he swings at them with a big punch that does massive damage

L: The octopus is pushed back some distance from the force of the punch, before it shakes its head and tries to grab the Loch Ness monster.

Felicia: "Yeah, get 'em Nessie!"

S: José - "Go!" José starts to feel a little better as he watches the Loch Ness monster attack

Loch Ness - "Grrr!" he avoids being grabbed and attacks the octopus again, biting them down hard

L: There's a screech of pain from the octopus at that bite, and it manages to pry the Loch Ness monster off it. It seems to consider for a moment whether it should just leave... Before it suddenly rushes forward, hoping to have caught its opponent off guard!

Primarina: "Oh, look out!"

S: "Oh no you don't!" the Loch Ness monster avoids it just in time, before gripping the octopus tightly and squeezing the life out of it as he bites them down again

José - "Whobla!"

L: There's another screech, and the octopus struggles to get away, but it's not going anywhere.

Felicia: "Looks like this might be our chance to beat it up ourselves!"

Primarina: "Wait for our friend to say, first!"

S: making sure to get a good grip on the octopus, the Loch Ness monster looks at us and nods happily

Loch Ness - "Alright guys, it's your time to shine! Go on and take a few hits at them!"

L: Felicia: "Let's get 'em!" She charges the octopus and jabs her muzzle into it.

Primarina: "Right behind you!" She rushes forward as well and starts punching the octopus.

S: josé's face is fully red, but he doesn't care for the moment, also starting to give the octopus a few punches as well

L: The octopus keeps struggling, but the Loch Ness monster has it at their mercy.

Felicia keeps jabbing the octopus, while the Primarina keeps punching.

Felicia: "This is for scaring my new friend!"

S: José giggles and keeps punching the octopus as hard as he can
José - "anbld thibls is fblor alblmost droblwning me!!! HIYA!!!!" he even gets some kicks as well

the Loch Ness monster laughs out bubbles at the sight of everyone hitting the octopus

L: The octopus struggles its hardest yet, and just barely manages to get out of the Loch Ness monster's hold. It starts trying to swim away from the group.

Primarina: "Yeah, you better run!"

Felicia: "And don't come back!"

S: "Good rbliddance!!!!"

Loch Ness - "Haha! That was really fun! You guys totally made that octopus scared for their life!"

L: Felicia: "That was great, yeah!"

Primarina: "We'd better get you to the surface though, José..."

S: "Oooh, yeah your face is going red there"

José - "Mmm!" José nervously covers his mouth as he has forgotten about his need to breathe

L: The primarina quickly holds onto José and starts swimming up with him. "It's just gonna be a few seconds, hold on!"

Felicia follows the two up.

S: the Loch Ness monster's face is a bit red as well as all that fighting used up a lot of his air, he follows the group up as well

José looks up nervously at the distant surface, hoping to get there in time

L: Even Felicia has a slight blush now, but she's still doing alright. "Man, we went farther down than I thought..."

The primarina tries to speed up her swimming.

S: Loch Ness - "I figured as much, but we should be ok here, I've still got quite a ways to go before I reach my true limit"

José keeps trying to hang in there, constantly loosing bubbles from his mouth and nose as his face slowly turns blue

L: The primarina covers José's mouth and nose for him. "Just a little farther..." Both she and Felicia get increasingly worried for him...

S: "Oh boy...hang in there José!" the Loch Ness monster gets worried about him as well, trying to go faster

José grunts from strain as he tries to keep his air in, hoping the surface won't be too much longer

L: Finally, the group surfaces! Felicia gasps, and the primarina uncovers José's mouth and nose so he can breathe.

S: José immediately gasps for air heavily

the Loch Ness monster gasps a bit as well, not as heavily tho

"Are you guys alright?"

José - "Hah...hah, yeah I'm good...phew"

L: Felicia: "Glad that stupid octopus is dealt with..."

Primarina: "You seemed like you were having a great time down there, José!"

S: "....ok ill admit, that was pretty fun! I finally got revenge on that octopus!"

Loch Ness - "Well all of you guys seemed like you were having fun, hehe"

L: Felicia: "So, José... How do you feel about diving, now that you've had so much fun underwater?"

S: José - "I feel a little better about it, I mean I'm still scared but not as scared as before"

L: Primarina: "Well, that's still an improvement! It should get easier to feel more okay about it from here."

Felicia: "Yep! I bet you'll be perfectly fine with swimming next time we meet up!"

S: "Maybe, I guess we'll see"

Loch Ness - "Well it was very nice to meet all of you, but I gotta get going, I need to really make sure I didn't miss any octopuses this time, heh... would you guys like a hug before I go? I'm starting to like those"

L: Felicia: "Aw, okay... A hug would definitely be nice though."

Primarina: "It would, yeah." She and Felicia both hug the Loch Ness monster.

S: José - "I want one too!" José goes over to hug the Loch Ness monster as well

the Loch Ness monster smiles and uses his huge flippers to hug everyone back warmly

L: Felicia: "Mmm, you give really good hugs..."

Primarina: "Definitely..."

S: "Yeah...this is better then my parents hugs! And that's saying something!"

Loch Ness- "Aww thanks guys, most folks do think I give good hugs!"

L: Felicia: "Well, guess this is goodbye for now..."

Primarina: "I hope we get to see you again sometime."

S: José - "Yeah!"

Loch Ness - "I'm usually around this area, so I'm sure you'll see me again! Take care guys!" with a wave of his flipper, the Loch Ness monster took a deep breath and dove underwater, swimming out of view

L: Felicia: "So, want to head back to shore for now, José?"

Primarina: "Think that might be enough excitement for one day."

S: José - "I agree, yeah let's head back to shore for real this time"

L: Primarina: "Alright then!" She and Felicia bring José back to shore once again.

Felicia: "Even as bad as this started, it was fun hanging out with you, José!"

S: "It sure was! I enjoyed my time with both of you too! Thanks for all your help, I know next time we meet I'll hopefully work on my breath holding so I can stay under longer"

L: Felicia: "And I'll be ready to help you out with it!"

Primarina: "Same here, if I happen to be nearby!"

S: "Thanks!"
eventually everyone gets back to shore and José steps onto the warm sands
"Felicia, thanks again for rescuing me back there, I really appreciate it, and it was so cool to finally meet a primarina as well! I almost don't wanna leave again, but I promise my mom and dad I come and see them, they are probably waiting for me"

L: Felicia: "Well, you can tell them all about what happened, and that you don't feel as scared about diving any more!"

Primarina: "You might want to leave out almost drowning, though."

S: "Heh, yeah I'll definitely leave that part out, I don't wanna freak them out, but yeah I'll be sure to tell them!" José goes over and hugs both Felicia and the primarina tightly
"I really hope we meet again soon!"

L: Felicia and the primarina hug him back.

Felicia: "I'm sure we will!"

Primarina: "We'll be sure to come by if we happen to notice you in the water!"

S: "Great!" he hugs them both for a while before breaking the hug
"Well, I guess I'll see you both later then! Bye bye now!" José waves goodbye before running away, his tail wagging happily behind him

L: Felicia and the primarina: "Bye!" They both wave back before diving underwater again.
