"Hiding from the storm"

Struggling to stay on the surface during a storm he thought he could handle, the lizard gasped down a deep breath and dove under, quickly having a much easier time. But, it's been a few minutes since then, and it's occurring to him that he'll need to go back up and into the storm at some point...

Maybe he should dive deeper and try to find an air bubble to breathe from :3

Of course! If not, he better make sure he has enough air in those lungs to stay down the entire storm~

That's gonna take a while, for sure... But he can probably handle it, even if he has to flood his lungs for it~

The rain would probably get in it, and waves would keep covering it, but it probably help at least a little.

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: there's a big thunderstorm on the horizon, and as the rain starts to pour down from the sky and the winds start picking up, everyone flees to their homes for shelter...well, almost everyone... a particular brave lizard was on the shoreline of the ocean, wanting to challenge himself by seeing if he can handle a storm like this, alongside him was a machop, his best friend... who looks at the waves of the water caused by the storm worringly then back at the lizard
"Are you sure this is a good idea?? I don't think this is gonna go too well"

L: The lizard, clearly a daredevil, isn't scared at all. "Hey, when else are we gonna get to swim in a storm like this? We'll be fine, we can always just head back if it's too much!"

S: "I know you do a lot of crazy things but this is a little too much, can't believe I'm actually agreeing to do this with you... do you notice how hard it's raining right now?? And do you see the size of those waves?! Doesn't that make you afraid at least a little bit? Come on"

L: "I mean, yeah, those'll be the biggest waves I've swam in yet, and I'm only like 99% sure I'll be able to handle it, but it's gonna be so cool to be out there!"

S: "Cool??? I don't know about that... this is drowning waiting to happen... but I'm only accompanying you to protect you if anything goes wrong, I can't let my best friend die...plus, I really hope we don't have to actually go underwater, you know how scared I am of that"

L: "We'll be fine, we're not gonna have to go under! Of course, the waves might force us under, but that'd only be for a second or so."

S: the machop yelps at that
"Oh I really hope those waves won't force us underwater, that'll be really really scary! Doesn't that scare you too? At least a little bit??"

L: "You know I like being underwater, I'm probably not gonna mind much. If it keeps happening it'll be an issue, yeah, but I'm sure I'll get used to it fast enough."

S: "I-i still don't know... maybe we shouldn't do this...the storm is getting worse by the minute!"

L: "Then we'd better get out there soon, so we have a chance to figure out the best way to swim in it!"

S: "Ohhh.... alright, fine...but if something happens to us I'm blaming it all on you"

L: "Hey, you don't HAVE to go out there, you can just stay here and watch if you want. It'll be more fun if you do come, though."

S: "No way, watching you out there would just make things worse... I have to go out there with you to make sure your ok"

L: "Alright then, I'll try to help you as well if you need me to. Let's do this!" The lizard starts heading into the stormy water.

S: "Alright..." the machop sighs heavily before joining the lizard into the stormy water

L: Still not scared, the lizard smiles as he starts swimming, the strong waves splashing against him.

S: meanwhile the machop is absolutely terrified, trying to swim against the waves...whimpering
"This is....already so rough... I'm scared!" he gets close to the lizard

L: "It takes some getting used to, but this is great!" The lizard stays close to the machop, having an easier time than them.

S: "Great?! This is not great!!!" the machop gets more scared by the minute, the storm gets worse as the two of them get further away from the shoreline, hoping the waves won't get any bigger so they won't submerge

L: The lizard just seems to enjoy himself more as the storm gets stronger. "Ha, this is a real beast of a storm! Been a while since I've really been challenged by one!"

S: "How could you not be scared right now?! This is horrible!!" the waves in the water get rougher and rougher and rain comes down even harder as they manage to get in the middle of it all, it's become clear that the storm may get too much for either of them, with machop struggling the most as they whimper loudly

L: As the storm keeps getting more intense, the lizard's fun starts to falter. "...O-okay, maybe this is a bit much!" He has to shout to be audible by now.

S: "I tried to tell you!! Come on we have to go back! Hurry!" the machop tries to start swimming back, but they get so disoriented from the intense storm that neither of them know which way to go, and by now both of them are starting to struggle to keep themselves above water

L: The lizard quickly looks around, finally starting to get scared. "W-where do we go!? I can't see the shore!"

S: "M-me either!! This is not good at all!!" the machop manages to hug the lizard tight "W-what do we do!? I don't think we could keep ourselfs above water for much longer with how intense these waves are!"

L: The lizard holds the machop as well. "We have to go underwater! That's what I always did when I went too far before, the storm won't affect us down there!"

S: "What?!?! Are you insane?! What did I say about me being super afraid to submerge underwater??? I though that wasn't gonna happen!! Nuh uh!!"

L: "I know, and I'm sorry, but staying up here is gonna tire us out, then we're just gonna sink under anyway, and we might not come back up at that point! This is our only option!"

S: the machop looks up at the lizard with wide innocent eyes
"Why did I agree to this?! I really don't wanna go underwater!! B-but...i guess if I have to....ughh!! I cant!" the storm is getting worse by the minute, even more rain... it seems this storm may turn into a hurricane where they are at

L: "C-coming out here was a mistake... I-I'm sorry I dragged you into this, but we don't have a choice but to dive out of this!"

S: "Nooo!!!!!" the machop whines even more at the thoughts of diving, but as the storm continues on, deep down...he's got no choice but to

L: It's beginning to be a struggle to stay on the surface, and the lizard starts taking deep breaths as he gets ready to dive.

S: regretfully the machop also starts to take some deep breathes, knowing he's gonna go underwater regardless of what happens

L: "G-get ready!" The lizard gasps one more time before going under, giving the machop a chance to hold their breath as well.

S: the machop yelps a tad before eventually gasping one last deep breath himself, still hugging the lizard as they both submerge underwater...down here it's a lot more calm

L: The lizard gives the machop a hug, trying to help keep them calm. He looks up at the surface, hoping the two will be able to wait out the worst of the storm on one breath.

S: the machop also looks up at the surface, feeling the same way as the lizard... with how calm it is down underwater the machop is actually calming down, hugging the lizard and letting some tiny bubbles loose from his nostrils

L: Noticing the machop calming down, the lizard starts to calm again as well, smiling at the machop with some bubbles of his own rising away.

S: the machop smiles back, knowing the both of them are save from the storm down here underwater, he holds the lizard's hand to make sure the both of them relax as they float just underneith the surface, waiting for the storm to be over hopefully, pinching his nose shut with his free arm

L: The two keep on waiting as the storm rages above, distorting the view of the surface above them as waves continue passing overhead.

S: eventually the machop's face is turning red, he's not the greatest at holding his breath, his cheeks start to puff up because of it, grunting a tad too, the storm continues on...it doesn't seem like it's gonna stop any time soon

L: The lizard is only blushing a little, more used to holding his breath. He keeps an eye on the machop, worrying about them getting low on breath like this.

S: the machop looks up at the surface again, his face turning more red as he starts to struggle with holding his breath as more time goes on, but soon machop gets an idea, he points up to the surface and tries to geasure to the lizard that he has a plan

L: Wondering what they've got in mind, the lizard nods and swims for the surface, bracing himself to go back into the storm.

S: the machop follows as they both surface, getting back into the harsh storm again before machop immediately starts to shout above the storm
"I had an idea! What if we head back to shore underwater?? We may have a better chance at surviving that then being up here!"

L: "That'll work! We just need to figure out what direction it's in!" The lizard shouts back, looking around again.

S: "....wait a second!" the machop takes a quick breath and dives back underwater, squinting a tad bit as he notices just a tad bit of the shore underwater, he comes back up and releases his breath
"I knew it! The direction of the shoreline is that way!" he points to that direction of the shore

L: "Okay, let's get going!" After a quick bit of preparing, the lizard dives once again, waiting for the machop to join him.

S: the machop soon holds his breath and dives under as well, starting to lead the lizard towards the direction of where the shore is

L: The lizard follows them, glad to hopefully be getting back to land soon as he's already a little tired from struggling earlier.

S: the machop was tired too, wrapping his arm around the lizard to make sure they are ok, smiling at them with bubbles escaping his nostrils...soon enough, the shore becomes visible underwater, getting the machop excited

L: Starting to feel relieved as the shore approaches, the lizard keeps on swimming, wanting to get all this done with.

S: eventually they reach the shoreline and together they surface into the storm again, gasping for air at bit as they run out of the water
"Come on! Let's get to somewhere safe! Quickly!"

L: "Yeah, we need to get out of this, I feel like it's getting worse!" The lizard runs for shelter with the machop.

S: they not too long found shelter later on, getting in it as they are now protected from the intense storm
"Phew... now did you learn your lesson? Cause I most certainly did!"

L: "Shouldn't push myself that far, yeah... That's the last time I swim in a storm that intense."

S: "Good, glad we're on the same page" and so together they wait out this intense storm, hoping it'll end soon and not turn this place into a mess...
