"Sinking cell"

For one reason or another, this lizard's found himself locked up inside a ship... And for some other reason, it's started sinking! Having been holding his breath for the past few minutes, he's getting close to drowning as he desperately reaches for the key to his cell, just barely too far...

Yeah, unless the key happens to fall toward him or someone comes by, he's probably not getting out of this...

squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: it was supposed to be a casual day, but this took a drastic turn for the worst as the worse, this poor lizard found himself trapped on a ship, someone locked him up for some reason, and now that ship was sinking underwater! He had to hold his breath as his room filled to the top with water, and now is trying to reach for a key that's just a bit short out of his reach, luckily tho, a Lucario opened the door to the place and looked around to try and find if someone was here

L: "MM, MMM!" The lizard tries to make as much noise as possible short of actually talking, trying to get the lucario's attention as he already has a red face from being low on breath.

S: the lucario notices what's going on and immediately panicks, releasing some air in a fury of bubbles as he swims over to the lizard, trying to see what's going on

L: The lizard frantically points to the key hanging on a hook that's barely too far away for him to reach, hoping the lucario will let him out.

S: "Oblh!" the lucario sees the key and immediately goes over to get it and unlock the cell using the key and let the lizard out

L: Once the door opens, the lizard quickly swims out of the cell, looking around and seemingly having no idea of the way out of the ship... He looks at the lucario, hoping they know the layout better than he does.

S: seeing the lizard so stressed, the lucario quickly helps to guide the lizard to an air pocket he saw earlier

L: The lizard quickly surfaces and gasps, finally catching his breath. "O-oh man, I really didn't think I was gonna be getting out of that cell..."

S: the lucario catches his breath too once he surfaces
"Phew... glad I saw you, are you doing alright? How did you end up in there??"

L: "I-I'm don't think I'm okay, I'm so scared... I-I was just going for a walk, then someone knocked me out and I woke up on this ship! A-and then it started sinking, and they left without me, a-and..." The lizard starts to cry a little.

S: "Omg...I-im so sorry about that... don't cry it's gonna be ok..." the lucario frowns, then pulls the lizard in for a hug, trying to calm them down
"Don't worry... your safe with me now, I'm gonna make sure whoever did this to you learns their lesson!"

L: The lizard hugs the lucario back. "Th-thanks... B-but, how are we gonna get out of here?"

S: "Well, I'm pretty sure I remember the way outta here, I just came in here to explore just minutes after it crashed and then I found you, it's a big ship but I think we'll be ok, unfortunately we'll have to go back underwater and I hope that doesn't freak you out..."

L: The lizard gasps in fear at that. "Y-yes it does! I'm not going back down there, no way! Not without some way to breathe!"

S: the lucario sighs
"I was afraid of that, look we've got no choice... there's nothing in this air pocket that'll help us any... we're gonna have to dive and look around for the exit..."

L: "No, I already got close to drowning down there, I'm not risking going through that again! There has to be some other way out!"

S: "...Look bud, there's literally nothing in this air pocket, it's empty... and I don't wanna scare you more but, air in these pockets don't last forever, so eventually...your gonna have to dive..."

L: "...Th-they don't?" The lizard just looks more scared. "W-what am I gonna do, then...?"

S: "Dive buddy...it's the only way" the lucario holds the lizard's hand with his paw
"I promise everything is gonna be ok, I won't let you drown... I swear on it..."

L: "I-I know I can't just give up... O-okay, I'll try..."

S: "Alright, that's what I wanna hear! Before we begin tho, what's your best breath hold time? Mine is 11 minutes, I've had some practice on it"

L: "Um... I did practice that before in bed at least, the best I could do was a little over 7 minutes..."

S: "Not bad, but with how scared you are it's probably gonna be less then that... I'll try my best to keep you calm, now come on take some deep breathes and let's get ready to dive" the lucario then starts to take deep breathes himself

L: "O-oh boy..." The lizard starts deeply breathing as well, mainly in an attempt to calm down, but it doesn't seem to be working all that well.

S: the lucario doesn't notice that and keeps deeply breathing, eventually once he seems ready and hopes the lizard is too, he takes a last deep breath and holds it before slowly diving underwater, taking the lizard with them and hopes they hold their breath too and not get scared

L: As he starts going down, the lizard does everything he can to stay calm and hold his breath... But he just can't do it, and quickly pulls away from the lucario to stay in the air pocket. "I-I can't do it, I'm sorry!"

S: the lucario notices that the lizard didn't come down, he quickly surfaces and exhales the air he held before sighing
"Aw come on! You were so close! You gotta try again!"

L: "N-no, there's just no way I can do this! I-I'm just gonna be stuck here until the air runs out..."

S: "No your not! I won't allow you to suffocate when the air runs out! That's not gonna happen, look is there anything that helps calm you down? Maybe we can use that to help you in this situation"

L: "U-um... I-it's kind of embarrassing, but... When I was young, my mom would always hum to me when I got scared, and that always calmed me down pretty well..."

S: "Ah, the soothing humming trick, why didn't I think of that? My mom actually did the same thing when I was just a riolu and I got scared... so I know how to do it... hopefully that'll help you stay calm then, I'm sure your mom is worried sick about you... let's try this again"

the lucario pauses to think for a moment, he had another idea in mind in case this one fails, it's a bit mean but it's a last resort, he then starts taking deep breathes again

L: "She must be, yeah... O-okay, one more try..." The lizard starts preparing again as well.

S: the lucario after a while then holds his breath again and then slowly dives underwater again, holding the lizard's hand...but this time as they start to dive, the lucario starts to hum a peaceful tune his own mother used, hoping I'll have the same affects

L: It does briefly seem to help a little, but just before the lizard would have to hold his breath, he once again loses what little composure he has and goes right back up. "I-it's not the same as when she does it!"

S: the lucario comes back up and exhales air before sighing again
"Ugh, I was really sure that would work..."
Knowing he has to use his last strategy, the lucario rolls his eyes
"Oh well, I've tried all I could... I guess you really are scared... stay here then, but I'm not sticking around, goodbye and good luck" the lucario takes a deep breath again and dives underwater without the lizard this time, his strategy was to make the lizard think he's leaving when really he's trying to trick the lizard into joining him so he wouldn't be alone

L: "Wh- Hey! D-don't leave me!" The lizard looks down in the water, terrified at the thought of diving, but even more at being left behind... Finally, he takes one more deep breath, tightly shuts his eyes, and dives after the lucario!

S: the lucario turns around, noticing the lizard has finally dove underwater, he smiles...his plan working, he comes back and gives the lizard a hug, the lizard is gonna know that this was a trick tho
"Chblange yblour miblnd hbluh? Gblood, noblw leblts gblet gobling" he switches to holding the lizard's hand and hopes they can finally get going

L: The lizard growls as he realizes what the lucario was doing... But, knowing he'd better get on with it before he ends up changing his mind again, he goes with them, hoping it won't be that long a swim.

S: the lucario blushes a bit as he realized the lizard found out
"Soblrry, ibl habld tblo... hbleh..."
then hand in hand they both start to swim to find an exit, the lucario tries to remember where it was

L: Having no idea where he should be going, the lizard trusts the lucario to know the way out, whining as his fear begins returning.

S: the lucario keeps going, hearing the whines, he knows the lizard probably won't be able to hold his breath very long, so he speeds up a bit, luckily after a few short minutes they find another air pocket, as much as the lizard probably won't submerge again after this, he doesn't want them to drown, so he guides them up and he gasps a little for breath himself once they break the surface

L: The lizard surfaces with a loud gasp, having been blushing some. "O-oh man... Th-this is awful..."

S: "I'm sorry for doing that to you, it was the only way to get you to submerge...and it worked thankfully but I know your not falling for it again... so catch your breath and hopefully you'll be brave enough to go back down"

L: "I-I understand... Let's just get all this over with, I'm sick of being in water..."

S: "I feel you there..." the lucario starts deeply breathing again

L: The lizard starts doing so as well, hoping this'll be the last dive he'll have to do.

S: after a while...
"Ok, time to dive again...I'll countdown this time so hopefully you'll calm down..3....2....1" the lucario holds his breath and dives under, hoping the lizard will do the same and not freak out again

L: At the end of the countdown, the lizard does hesitate again... But, this time, he does actually hold his breath and dive down after the lucario, as much as he clearly doesn't want to join them down there.

S: seeing the lizard come down, the lucario happily smiles and gives them a thumbs up, before he leads them through the ship, he hums again as he hopes that'll somewhat help the lizard's growing anxiety

L: It does seem to help at least a little bit, though the lizard is clearly still extremely nervous, looking around as bubbles trickle from his nostrils.

S: the lucario keeps close to the lizard so they don't get separated, letting out some bubbles from his mouth, but thank goodness...they finally find an exit, however once they swim through it, they are extreamly deep underwater, thousands of miles they have sunk, and it's pitch black, and don't even start on the pressure, it's insane which all this might spook the lizard more and even the lucario is a bit scared of it himself

L: The lizard almost panics as he realizes just how bad the situation is, frantically looking all over. "Wbl-whblat noblw!?"

S: "Oblh nblo...wblere reblally fblar unblder... noblthing tblo dblo but swblim up... thblats intimblidating...evblen foblr mble" the lucario shakes the feelings off before he begins to swim up as fast as he can, hoping the lizard follows as this was gonna be a long trip upwards

L: Knowing it's really the only option, the lizard starts swimming up as well, managing about the same speed as the lucario. He tries not to think about how it'll go if they don't reach the surface in time...

S: the lucario tries to not think about that too, he pinches his nose shut, now trying to conserve his air as he kicks his legs as fast as he can upwards, they don't even get halfway there yet as the lucario's face flushes red

L: The lizard's face is fully red at this point too, though he doesn't hold his nose, wanting to keep going as fast as he possibly can while he whimpers a little from fear.

S: "Itbls gblonna be oblk!!" the lucario bubbles out as he keeps going up

the two swim up for a while, until they finally get halfway done, however lucario's face is now fully red and almost blue as he grunts from his need to breathe

L: By now, the lizard has to cover his mouth with one hand, continuing to swim with the other. Bubbles occasionally leave him in spurts regardless, giving him a blue face, but he keeps up his speed.

S: the lucario keeps going as well, as fast as he can, hoping they will make it up somehow

L: Everything's getting lighter around the two as they get closer to the surface. But, as the lizard's lungs begin to burn, he still doesn't know for sure whether he or the lucario will make it there in time...

S: the lucario whines a little bit as his own lungs burn, not used to be so low on breath, he moves his hand to cover his mouth as well, then with his free arm he wraps it around the lizard's shoulders, hoping to gain a little more speed from the both of them swimming at the same time, his face fully bluer then normal

L: The lizard looks at the lucario fearfully, starting to shiver a little both from fear and how badly he needs to breathe. He's still going as fast as he can, of course, but it's getting harder to do so.

S: the lucario tries to give them a reassuring look as they keep going, and they are almost there, just less then 5 feet away, but lucario's face is deeply purple and he's so close to inhaling the water around him

L: Not being as good as the lucario, the lizard ends up finally reaching his limit! "MMBLUBRULRBLBL!" He starts exhaling all his air as he frantically swims up... And just barely manages to surface before he'd inhale water, gasping heavily!

S: the lucario was just about to inhale himself when he too reaches the surface finally and gasps very heavily for breath, coughing a little too
"Hah...hah...hah...hah, man...I don't even remember the last time I pushed myself like that, jeez!"

L: "N-never again! Hah, hah... N-never diving again!" The lizard keeps himself on the surface, coughing a few times as he recovers.

S: "Hah...hah..." the lucario keeps himself on the surface too
"Yeah I'm not diving for a while after that...come on, let's get you to shore, here you can hold onto me while you recover"

L: The lizard holds onto the lucario, still breathing heavily. "Th-thanks for all this... I think I would've stayed too long if you didn't tell me air pockets run out..."

S: the lucario then simply kicks his legs back towards the shoreline
"It's no problem, I'm a helper and I enjoy helping others when they are in danger, but seriously I need to find out who did this to you and give them a piece of my mind! Do you have any idea on who did it?"

L: "Um... I remember there being a shark guy guarding the cell I was in, and a heliolisk came into the room to talk to him at one point, but I never saw anyone else."

S: "Hmm...alright, that'll give me some kind of clue on who could have done it..."

as the two make it to shore, in the distance there seem to be two pokemon discussing what appears to be about that ship that sunk, one of them was the Ekans and the other one was a Luxray
"Hey...what's that?" the lucario stays behind and tries to listen in on the conversation

Ekans - "Man, it sure sucks that the ship went down, but at least we drowned plenty of victims! Sssshahaha!!"

L: The lizard tries to stay hidden as well while the luxray responds.

Luxray: "Yep, no way any of them are coming back from that! Even IF any of them somehow got out of the ship, they wouldn't be able to swim all the way back up!"

S: "Are you kidding? I mean that ship has got to be in the very depths by now, nobody has the lungs to make the swim back up! They are weak!"

the lucario turns to the lizard and whispers to them

Lucario - "I think we've found our culprits..."

L: The lizard whispers back "What are we gonna do? I've never fought anyone before..."

S: "Don't worry, I'm a fighting type...i was made for battle, just stay behind me and I'll do the talking, these guys gotta learn their lessons the hard way!"

Ekans - "So Luxray now that we've done all that, what's should we do now? Should we meet back up with Heliolisk? He's probably wondering where we went"

L: Lizard: "Okay, just be careful..."

Luxray: "Yeah, let's check up with the others. I didn't see the shark leave, but I'm obviously not really worried about him, he's got gills."

S: the lucario nods before slowly starting to approach the ekans and the Luxray

Ekans - "Yeah he's fine, lets--" the ekans notices the lucario and the lizard!
"Wait a minute, is that the lizard that we trapped in that cell?!"

Lucario - "Yes it is! And I saved them! You both should be ashamed of yourselfs for doing this!"

L: The lizard nervously stays behind the lucario. "Y-yeah, that was the worst time of my life!"

Luxray: "Well, it's over now, so leave us alone. Or are we going to have to do even more to you?"

S: Ekans - "Yeah! It's all done! Get outta here!" the ekans hisses angrily at both of them, lucario wasn't even fazed

Lucario- "Tsk tsk, you have no remorse... maybe you two should see what it's like being super deep underwater! See what it's like to suffer in the depths!"

L: Luxray: "Oh yeah? And how do you plan on beating both of us? 'Cause I can tell your lizard friend won't be joining in on this."

Lizard: "H-hey, you don't know that I won't!"

S: the ekans just laughs
Ekans - "Really? I don't think your gonna beat us! We're not even scared of you!"

Lucario - "Hey! I'm a fighting type! I'm gonna kick both you guys pokemon butts! Then you'll see in the near future not to mess with a lucario!" he gets into a fighting pose, ready to strike these guys with everything he has

L: The luxray gets ready for a fight as well. "Looks like we're doing this then!"

The lizard backs up some. "Good luck..."

S: the ekans does as well

Ekans - "Two against one? This should be easy!"

Lucario - "Grrr!!!" the lucario pounces on both the ekans and the luxray, fighting them pretty well, he would appreciate the lizard's help deep down but it looks like he can handle this fine

L: The lizard stays back and watches, wishing he had the confidence to help.

The luxray fights back as hard as he can. "Argh, you're tougher than you look!"

S: the ekans does too

Ekans - "Yeah! This is ridiculous!"

Lucario - "I told you to not mess with a lucario!"

pretty soon the lucario wraps things up pretty nicely, and once they were weak enough, he grabs a thick piece of rope he found earlier and ties up both the ekans and the luxray, tight enough so that neither of them can move

"There, that outta hold ya!"

L: The luxray struggles to get free. "Ugh! Fine, I guess you win..."

The lizard comes over as well, not looking quite as nervous as before. "Oh wow, you really did get them!"

S: the ekans struggles to get free too but can't

"Yep! Told you! Nothing to it!"

Ekans - "Alright we get it your powerful, now could you untie us?!"

Lucario - "Nope, I don't think so, come on buddy help me carry these guys to that cliff over looking the water"

L: Lizard: "Yep, that should be easy." He grabs the luxray and ekans and helps the lucario get them over to the cliff.

Luxray: "W-wait, you're not actually going to drop us off there, are you?"

S: the ekans looks over at the cliff, now feeling a little nervous

Ekans - "Y-you better not! I don't like water!"

the lucario smirks before he ties a decent sized rock to the thick rope he used

Lucario - "Oh, that's exactly what I'm gonna do! I want the two of you to see what me and my buddy here had to suffer from! A taste of your own medicine!"

L: Luxray: "No, don't! I-I'm sorry, let us go!" He keeps struggling, though it's still not accomplishing anything.

Lizard: "Nah, this is exactly what you two deserve!"

S: Ekans - "please! Don't drop us off there! Let us go!" the ekans keeps struggling too, getting nowhere

Lucario - "Then maybe you shouldn't have kidnapped my friend over here, buddy would you like to do the honors and throw them into the water?"

L: Lizard: "Yep, here we go!" With one good shove, he sends the two bound Pokemon off the edge!

Luxray: "NO NO NO!" He struggles even harder, getting a deep breath in while he can.

S: Ekans - "Ahhhhh!!! NOOO!!!!!" the ekans struggles harder too but neither of them can escape, he was too focused on falling that he wasn't even getting a deep breath!

Lucario - "And down they go! They should splash into the water any second now!"

L: And, just a moment later, they do, disappearing underwater with a large splash.

Lizard: "Nice... No way they're coming back from this."

S: "Nope! They are definitely screwed big time!"

the ekans at the last possible second takes a deep breath and holds it before they splashed underwater, he closes his eyes briefly before opening them to look at Luxray with clear fear in his eyes

L: The luxray looks back at the ekans, terrified as well. With it beginning to occur to him that struggling is pointless, he looks around the seabed, hoping he'll find something to cut the rope with.

S: the ekans now tries to get free out of fear but again it doesnt work, this is the first time in his life that he's genuinely terrifed, he let's out a lot of bubbles, even visibly tearing up and whimpering, which he never does

L: Not finding anything that'd help, the luxray starts to panic as well, bubbling quite a bit and already starting to blush some.

S: the ekans blushes a lot more then the luxray, he continues to whimper, but he tries to calm himself down a bit by wrapping his head around Luxray in a hug, both of then are still good friends and the ekans is worried about them both

L: The luxray does his best to hug them back, and just closes his eyes, now just praying that something will happen that'll save the two of them...

S: the ekans closes his own eyes too, but as time passes none of them are being saved, now the ekans is dangerously close to drowning already as he's a very bad breath holder, he doesn't wanna die and soon he looks at luxray again with huge fear in his eyes, bubbling out a lot

L: The luxray is really low on breath as well, with a blue face that's beginning to turn purple as he looks at the ekans... He gives one last attempt at struggling out of the rope, though he already assumes it won't work.

S: the ekans does too, but of course it doesn't work, he tightens his hug on the luxray one last time as if it was goodbye before he inhales the water around them, fully crying as he drowns

L: As much as he tries to hold on, the luxray soon has no choice but to gasp as well, hugging the ekans in an attempt to distract himself from the pain of drowning as he repeatedly coughs and gasps.

S: it didn't take long for the poor ekans to faint, still keeping his head around the luxray even as he drowns fully

The lucario and lizard meanwhile find themselves laughing up a storm, the lucario hid a secret camera to watch over them, so they were watching over them the whole time

L: Soon, the luxray fully drowns as well, leaning on the ekans as he passes out.

Lizard: "Well, guess that's that... This was weirdly fun!"

S: Lucario - "That was hilarious! I quite enjoyed that! We'll leave them down there till someone else finds them, come on...let's go and get some rest, I bet your exhausted"

L: "Yeah, I really need some time to relax after all this... This has been kind of a rough day for me..."

S: "Yeah this was rough near the end for me, alright let's go then"
and so the lizard and lucario walk off to find a spot to nap, both of them happy they are alive and well
