"No breathing needed"
This lizard may be a lot more blue than he normally is, but don't worry, he's fine. He's testing out a new invention of his, that bracelet on his wrist, and it's working great so far! That bracelet synthesizes ATP and injects it into him, removing any need for oxygen while it's active. Essentially, it means he doesn't need to breathe, by giving him energy in place of that!
With some anesthetic to remove the pain of breathing water, he's giving his bracelet its first field test, and while he's found a minor side effect - his oxygen is still used, making him rather blue after a while - it doesn't have any negative effect. Since he's not all that good at swimming, the water in his lungs weighs him down enough he has to walk, but he's having a great time regardless, wandering the lakebed without needing to worry about surfacing.
