Most people will keep a relationship going as long as they are getting something out of it. It is selfish to think and do like this, but people are not perfect beings and what they want usually is only for themselves and not their friends, family or partners even if its hurts them.

The pain and misery of a sloppy breakup is horrible. I know, I've been there a few times before and it never gets easy. :/
The best thing to remember is that even though your love cannot bear reciprocation with ONE person, that doesn't mean you aren't allowed a chance to try again with someone new. In hindsight, you've always got dependable +followers and friends in the fandom to rely on for moral support. <3
