I 'think' I know who Tommy is ...why this card wasn't sent to him is anyone's guess.
Yes, this is a greeting card of some kind, complete with an inside and a reverse illustration.

It doesn't show on the upload, but the ink used here is metallic--it shines in the light and is a tiny bit reflective (I'm surprised it scanned).

The depth of your mother's skills and interests still has me floored!
And yes they made blank cards and envelopes for artists like us to send very personal
messages on. I actually have several that I've not used in quite a while but the paper is
Strathmore so it's pretty decent quality for just about any medium. I especially like that your
mother hand drew the wolf border by hand, even though it's a simple rendition the fact that she
duplicated those wolf heads so well is impressive. :D

Once again thank you for sharing her art with us. Please continue as long as you like but don't
stop with your own work. It's a treat to see that as well and I miss the Wolf Family quite a bit. :)

I bought one of those infamous 'Too Cool to Do Drugs' pencils. I'm just hoping it's a real one and not a reprint.

Seriously? There's such a thing?
Wow!  You'll have to tell me about them cause I had NO IDEA!

How will you be able to tell the difference between a real one and a fake?? O.o

Well, I know the ones from Etsy are fakes (lol), as well the ones from Snopes (oddly enough).

Well that was a long time ago and you know my memory leaves much to be desired.
Still, why would a company "counterfeit" a pencil when they could just as easily make it
under their own name and brand.

BTW I completely forgot to ask you WHY those pencils were "infamous".
What about them was so unique that they were counterfeited?

The pencils in the picture were made for clarity; they are not the originals (you can buy ones just like these on Etsy).
I think mine is a real one from the 1990s based on the fact that it's wrapped (rather than stamped) and the eraser is clearly aged.
Additionally, it was bought within a lot of genuine vintage pencils.

The funniest pencil I ever saw read, "A Fox Lives Under My Porch". I almost bought it. ^^

I'm still looking for a wooden Popples pencil as well that $2-off Domino's Pizza pencil. :(
