Well, I said I'd be uploading some of my mother's art, so ...here's some? lol

My mother recently passed, leaving me with hundreds of drawings and poems and ...pocket books. :P
Anyway, the vast majority of her work will die along with she and I---these arts are just the ones I thought to share here.

Now, I know most who received this notification want to see MY art, not someone else's. That's fine, I guess ...again, I'll not upload TOO much of my mother's art---mostly I'll be uploading enough to get the trash I made pushed off my profile pages.

My mother's preferred medium was ink on parchment paper. Sometimes, she'd color with Sharpie and/or with Gel Pens, etc. Her talent, I think, was in her stippling.

A FAIR WARNING:

Unlike me, my mother liked to look at pictures from coloring books and redraw them. Some of the drawings here are many years old and I don't know the inspirations/derivations of their sources. Additionally, my mother took a literal translation to symbols and cultural artifacts. For example, though she was a Christian, she made use of the 'Peace' sign, taking it for what she thought it meant/represented (I won't upload anything of hers that used that symbol).

I have also removed my mother's signature from her work, mostly because she signed everything with her real name. :P
Additionally, my mother (like me) was autistic, so some of her grammar, spelling and poetry may read oddly. ^^

Last, she had a thing for Native American art and symbols, but (so far as I know) she knew nothing about them (I could be wrong, but I know my mother only recently discovered the internet, and even then, she mostly stuck to FaceBook---I don't think she ever visited Wikipedia).
So, if anything of hers that I upload here offends you, know the art and the person who made it came from a good place. Still don't like it and aren't mature enough to look away? Ok, cry to a moderator and not to me---I'll not take any of it down voluntarily (accept that any way you like).

I read that the John Birch Society called the peace sign "the footprint of the American chicken".

Did your mother ever see the movie "Lady Hawk" with Rutger Hauer and Michelle Phifer?
Probably not now that I think about it. It deals with religious themes and a not nice bishop!
But this very much feels inspired by that. :)

I dunno. I know she liked some horror stuff (she introduced me to Alien/Aliens when I was nine lol).

My mother became Christian late in life, sometime in 2010 or thereabouts. Dunno if this affected her taste in film (the last movie she watched on her own was The Meg 2).

The Meg 2! :D
Awesome.
I'm sad now that I never got to meet her, she sounds like she had quite a life
and would be someone who would have some amazing stories to tell. :D
