The Naga Lords have all found their ways of coping with the loss of their various empires. Many fell into the work force. others found ways to be self employed or work in a leading, but servile position to society.
Naga Lord Riz Irene was not one who transitioned to this new world order.
She turned to the arcane and sank deep into magics to warp her appearance to better blend in and bide her time. Quietly ensnaring thralls to further her lifestyle. She once pined for rule, but has narrowed her scope to want for nothing.
One day, she stumbled across one of Darkwitt's agents. The Mark of Imperius fascinated her, and she sought to claim its power for herself. Warping time and space to bring Darkwitt to her, she tried to tempt the power away from him, not realizing it was an ability he didn't fully understand.
For weeks, the two had a tête-à-tête. a rivalry of magic, strategy, and discourse. Until finally Darkwitt agreed to let her access the Mark, hoping she would help him better understand the nature of the magic.
She tapped into its otherworldly energy, and found herself bound to it. Marked in Darkwitt's service, she finds the effects strangely acceptable. Enjoying the focus of a Master directing her powers. She taps into her magical abilities to better train and assist Darkwitt in his goals. Finding the new purpose oddly fulfilling. Perhaps in time, She may release herself from this bond. But until then, she's content.

Not every Naga lord has the coil for legs. Though Riz's abilities allow her to shift into whatever forms she wants, some things always stick around. namely her color scheme. To erase any trace of herself would take considerable energy and focus, more than she's willing to give most of the time.
