Nova is a shapeshifting slime creature that has tiny lights floating inside it, which randomly connect to each other with lines, giving the appearance of constellations that fade away shortly after as the lights move away from each other. However, there is a constant constellation on its forehead that changes depending on how it's feeling. So far only five have been noticed, with one of them being the default.

Not much is known about Nova other than it came from space, oozing out of a meteor that crashed on the planet, so it's not known for sure if there are others like it out there. Scientists nicknamed the species "Astralime" while they were studying it to know what it's made out of to give a more appropriate scientific name, however, when the information about this creature leaked out to the public, a campaign started to let it free as it was a fully sentient creature, and people considered it unethical to treat it like just an experiment.

The creature was given the name "Nova" by the people who took care of it as it grew and learnt, and now it lives among the population like any other person.

Nova doesn't have any gender by default, but it likes the organic beings' gender standards, so it likes to act and look as a traditionally feminine person would, though it doesn't mind being treated as any gender or being called with any pronouns.

While it can take any form, its two favorite forms are anthropomorphic and quadruped. Its shapeshifting is also limited to the amount of smile it has, as its smile is always passively dissolving, and if it's low in slime it can't shapeshift at all. It can replenish slime by absorbing materials into its body, so it developed the habit of eating food regularly like people do to keep its amount of slime in shape.

This character has been in WIP hell for quite a lot of time X3 but now that the ArtFight is close, I figured I could make an effort to squish some time to finish it.

I've always liked the design trope of something having the space as a texture, so I thought making a slime creature would be perfect for having that as the whole appearance of the character X3
