“Fine then, we’ll go to the trampolines.” Daniël sighs.
“Yay!” Ricky, Oscar and Ethan cheer.
“Now let’s hope Elioth will spare us a little.” Ben says.
The five of them go towards the area with trampolines and a bouncy castle. There are only two cubs left, The eleven-year-old hyena making fun of an eighth year old calico cat named Cooper.
“Only big cubs are allowed here!” Elioth tells the younger cub.
Cooper quickly adjusts his glasses, before saying. “I’m allowed to be here.” He points towards a sign which says, ‘For cubs three to twelve.’
The others enter the area, fortunately not being noticed by either of them.
“Well I’m playing here!” Elioth snaps at the cat.
“We can both play here, there are ten trampolines.” The kitten replies, quickly regretting his words as he gets more frightened by the hyena.
Elioth is annoyed by the cat’s smart response, and pushes him to the ground.
“Ow, why did you do that?” Cooper yelps.
“Aww, are you going to cry to your mommy?” The bully asks.
Daniël knows Cooper well. He’d heard that his parents had passed away in a house fire, and couldn’t stand his friend being bullied for that. “We have to help him.”
“But Daniël!” Ethan tries to warn him about something.
But the bear doesn’t hear the fox as he storms towards the bully “Hey! Leave my friend alone!” He orders. But the cub forgot to take one thing into account, He’s still wearing pull-ups
“Pfft Hahaha!” Elioth bursts out laughing. “Daniël, why are you wearing diapers like a little baby?”
“I got in trouble for making fun of Benjamin.” Daniël says, technically the truth. “Better question, why are you making fun of him?” He sternly asks as Ben helps the crying kitten get up and get his glasses.
“He was getting in my way.” The hyena says, his eyes filled with rage. “And so are you.”
“We can also pway here!” Ricky shouts,
“Cute.” Elioth says teasingly. “The baby area is there.” He points at the small corner designated for cubs younger than four.
“We’re three, so we can pway here as well!” The raccoon responds.
“Depends, are you big enough?” The hyena asks.
“Uh-huh.” Ricky replies. He pulls down his pants, showing off his dry pullups. “See.”
“That’s better than other kids.” He chuckles as he glares at Ben.
“You know he can’t help it.” Cooper reminds him.
“Did I ask you anything? The hyena snaps at the kitten once more.
“No, But...” He suddenly stops as he notices his bursting bladder despite having gone to the bathroom less than an hour earlier. As he starts leaking, he tries to go away, but is stopped by Elioth, who figures out what’s wrong and pulls him by his tail.
“What’s the matter?” Elioth teases. “I thought you wanted to play here.”
“Leave him alone!” Daniël tells him.
“Fine then.” The bully smirks. “You can go.” He tells the cat, but extends his leg in order to make him trip.
“Thanks.” Cooper softly says as he makes a run for it, before inevitably tripping and falling in his stomach. His last-ditch effort at making it to the bathroom is ruined as he starts peeing his pants, as he lets out short sobs.
“Did the witty baby boy have a wittle accident?” The hyena teases.
“How are we going to help him?” Daniël asks, before noticing that Oscar hadn’t been there for a while. “Where’s your friend Ricky?”
“I dunno, probably left to get changed.” The toddler replied.
The otter slipped away earlier to warn the parents of both cubs. He comes back with Cooper’s foster parent, a male panda who was pretty tall and muscular. “What’s wrong?” He asks, before noticing Cooper’s state. “Did you have another accident? He sighs.
The calico cat struggles to get up as tears run down his face. “I, I’m sorry sir, I didn’t mean to.” He replies in a frightened manner.
The panda figures that he might have come across as scary towards his foster child, and comforts him. “It’s okay, you can’t help it.”
Ben is the first one to speak up. “It wasn’t his fault sir, Elioth bullied him and prevented him from going to the bathroom.”
“Is that so?” A voice asks. It was Elioth’s mother. “You know I don’t tolerate bullying, Elioth!” She sternly scolds her son.
“I didn’t bully them, he’s lying!” The hyena responds.
“All these cubs are saying you made fun of that kitten and you expect me to believe you?! You are in a world of trouble, young man!” She said as she pulled her son by the ear and went back to their table.
“Ow! Mom, that hurts.” Elioth exclaims
“Like how Cooper felt when you literally and figuratively pushed him around?” The mother asks.
Ben, Daniël, Ethan, Oscar and Ricky go back to their seats. Timothy is chatting with Oscar’s dad Otto, and Ricky’s mother Rachel, who’s pregnant with her second child.
“There you guys are.” Timothy says. Having fun?” He asks.
“Sort of.” Ethan says.
“What does that mean?” Timmy asks.
“We encountered a bully making fun of another cub….” Daniël starts.
“...But we showed them who’s boss.” Ricky finished.
“Really?” Rachel asks proudly.
“Well at least we tried to.” Ben says. “But his mother noticed what happened, and she wasn’t happy with him.”
“That’s an understatement.” Daniël chuckles. “We don’t have to worry about him again I think.” He adds.
“That’s great to hear.” Otto says.
Just then, the food the grown-ups ordered arrives. Timothy had ordered a small portion of fries for each of the cubs he was babysitting, while both Rachel and Otto ordered a large portion to share with their own cub. Each pup thanks their respective caregiver, before digging in.
