Panel 103: Val, Vabe, Vasha, and Thindel are embracing each other just as the mind wipe and regression procedure begins. Vasha embraces Val, Val has her arms around Vabe, and Thindel looks at the littles with tear stricken concern. All the little ones are crying as well. Gunhildr is standing, her top half off screen as she rests a paw on top of Val's head.
Caption: But there wasn’t a darn thing I could do. We hugged as the tears fell...
Panel 104: POV of Zyn as the dark pod closes. You can see Zyn's hands in front of them. The window shows the sterile metallic ceiling and bright white light fixtures.
Caption: As the pod closed. Nony's appearance would change for their next life.
Panel 105: Similar to panel 104. Hands of Zyn are visible. Their fingers are opened up as their body begins absorbing regression energy. The pod lights up with blue, glowing esoteric energy. Sparkles surround the hands.
Caption: Nony’s appearance would change for their next life. They would be put in stasis and shipped off to a creche somewhere. If they were lucky, they’d be adopted by a new family.
Panel 106: A tear stricken Val looking back as Zyn’s pod is lifeted by cute, hovering robots. The robots have big blue eyes, tiny, silver arms, and a hover thruster instead of legs. They are lifting Zyn's pod up to a storage unit built into a wall. There are many other closed storage units, suggesting that many Maerians could be housed there as they wait for their next placements.
Caption: No one was supposed to know what happened to a friend or family member when their new life began. It was the law to let them go. To pry into their lives was a capital offense.
Panel 107: Gunhildr, carrying Val, returning to their colorful little cottage in the night. On either side, plants grow. Green stalks on the left, and sunflowers on the right. The front door light shines with a welcome glow.
Caption: Eventually we all went home. I’ll admit, with Nony gone, our family just drifted apart.
