In my current story, "There's No Way", I have a character named Amanda Fuchs. I don't have her past written down but, I can tell you anything you want to know about her.

Oh, that one's easy. Amanda's happiest moment was the day she literally ran into Michael Thomson (a 21st-century human) and he protected her as they fell to the floor by wrapping his arms around her protectively and didn't berate her for her clumsiness. Oh, I forgot to mention, the story takes place 20,000 years from now.

Although in all seriousness, I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. I don't know if there's ever been a case like that(certainly not to that severity), but from what I've looked up, you can arrest family members(including spouses), but you can't investigate the cases. Now I don't know what it would be like if they discovered the perpetrator after the fact, but I can only assume that the investigation would be transferred to another precinct. And...yeah, there's a good chance Rolex would be added to said investigation, and be in trouble himself.
This page makes me wonder about the hypothetical; what would've happened if the ultimate fan-hitting shit didn't occur on Breaking Bad—if (spoiler, I guess) Hank successfully finished arrested Walter and Uncle Jack never showed up. Obviously the ending would've fizzled out, but jesus just IMAGINE the repercussions that would shockwave across the Southwest. I'm pretty sure Hank would've lost his job, too. GOD, now that's gonna be itching my brain for weeks 😅
Hmm, Shadowolf returns... 💀 Although in all seriousness, I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.
Also, what are the chances that whoever the investigates the case is going to already be in Ima's pocket or at least persuaded (by bribe or threat) to skew in her favor?

Exactly, she's in such a powerful position and holds so many cards in her hand that the case being passed to anyone else is essentially at least some kind of guaranteed win for her

I'm kinda getting Dracula vibes from that last panel. Doesn't help that I recently watched the Netflix Castlevania and Dracula wearing a trench coat like that in the first episode.

I was going for that, actually! A lot of readers said that Rolex looks like a vampire in his trench coat. I’ve been leaning into that as kind of an inside joke >3
