it is hard to look intimidating when you are floating a few inches off the floor, and the recoil is even worse! I think I was trying to do something like the game "Doom," specifically some add-on levels I've played here and there but it looks more like something off the Sega Master System. whoopth. That is beside the point I suppose since I didn't set out to include a background at all!
It is my understanding that few Master System games did anything very well (at least that wasn't done better by the same game on another platform), though I had limited exposure to it when it was new.

Well, you know what they say - 8-bits good, 16-bits better! Games like Sonicwere better on the Mega Drive (Genesis), but I think they did pretty well considering the system's limitations.

Even THAT was primarily a port of the original version, though! Or rather, a port of the Game Gear version, which was a port of the original. The Master System's major failing was its lack of exclusive titles, plus Sega's usual premature release of a subsequent system to try and get the jump on its competitors. I am told it was very popular in Brazil, so maybe it was presented in a more functional context where you were, also. I don't recall the master system Sonic game even being released in United Statia. To be positive, I remember liking the game "Zillion 2" when I visited my cousins, who always had the new game systems before I did. I was also impressed that their version of Rampage had the werewolf and their Double Dragon let the red guy and blue guy be onscreen at the same time.

I think it was just the cheapest option. My mother was a teacher, so we didn't really have a huge amount of money. Perhaps it's for the best - if I'd had better game consoles, I might not have wasted all my time on the PC instead and missed out on a lucrative if probably short-lived programming career.
