Of course, this drawing, this photo, and this rendered photo don't do any justice for the real thing. I did a few quick glances without the eclipse shades once the eclipse was total, and it is nothing like you've ever seen before. The pure white was like a neon light on steroids. The eclipse I glanced at twice in 1970 was equally as awesome, though a little different. I only wish there was a camera that existed that could capture the full extent of what it really looks like so it could be shared with those who either didn't get an opportunity to see it, or was too afraid to glance at it without the shades. In fact, I don't see a video online what so ever that matches what actually seeing it looks like.
Below are two videos recorded northeast of Clinton, Arkansas from a roadside location overlooking several miles of basin. The views in the videos are looking north to northeast This location was about a mile from the exact center of the path of totality.
