Our normally good-natured protagonist Zullie only calls upon her demon partner when there's no other option, as he will always push for and insist upon the nastiest, violent solution possible to any problem they face, contrasting her Carbuncle who will try to avoid combat at all if at all possible. She's always been weak, a poor fighter and a piss poor summoner (due in part to spending all her time with her summons doing.... ah, non-combat-related things). But Beltempest's answer is so quick, so easy. A fast-track to the power she wants, and deserves... perhaps long enough under his influence may make her see things his way.
Blood magic and necromancy is just way cooler than the stuff she was dicking around with before. And as we know, bad characters just automatically get cool edgy black outfits, that's just how it goes. l3
