Yup once more I've come up with yet another original species that lives in space but has roots on Earth. ^^ As always with new species info on the species an then info on the character in the pic.

The Alventai are a Primate species originating on Earth. They evolved from a tailless variety of of new world monkey and were becoming space faring just as the human line in African and Eurasia were rising. As the centuries past the Alventai became at home exploring the stars and seeing a growing and expanding human line decided that they would leave Earth en mass so that their cousin species would have time to evolve and mature on their own without interference just as they had. At present the Alventai are a wide spread and highly advanced species who's goals as a whole are the pursuit and advancement of knowledge as well as the preservation of life in all it's forms. In keeping with he later the Alventai live only on worlds which they terraformed from a lifeless state or on construct worlds they've built themselves. If they wish to study a world in the long term stations are built in orbit from which they can explore and examine the planet's surface. In their studies of life however the Alventai have discovered something most strange. That while varying in form widely from world to world all examples of life found thus far with the exception of two are related on the deepest genetic level suggesting that all of it had the same source. Due to the dispersion of life the Alventai have discounted panspermia as a viable theory and instead their working theory is sometime several billion years ago a species seeded this life across the galaxy. Finding solid evidence of this however is most difficult as time has cleansed the galaxy of most clues and the many previous space fairing races make find the original like looking for a needle in a hay stack with dozens of fake needles.

The Alventai also have strong relationships with non organic life. An AI race of their own creation for one. The Daison. The Daison play an integral part in the lives of the Alventai. Tradition among the Alventai is that a child be paired with a Daison. The Daison serves as teacher, friend, caretaker, and guardian. Alventai and Daison are practically always together and the Daison's abilities are there when the Alventai needs them. For one Daison are able to move freely between hardware and when provided an emitter can exist as solid holograms which can care for and defend their Alventair during formative years. The two are life long friends and upon the death of the Alventai his Daison is passed down to the next child born in his linage. Clothing wise the Alventai typically wear two layers. A snug form fitting inner layer and an outer layer which is for all practical purposes decorative. Usually the inner layer is strewn with micro circuits and sensors which can monitor vitals and even administer some emergency treatments. On ships this inner layer typically has the capacity to seal itself and protect the wearer from space or other hostile environments. Some even sport light armor and can serve as attachment strata for additional armor.

Today saw Alack going for a walk as he often did. Life on Telesta wasn't nearly as dull as some worlds. Telesta was the closest world to Earth the ancient homeworld and ships were coming and going all the time to it. Alack for his part had a passing interest in humans and with talks about first contact being soon excited him. Not just because it would bring their cousins into the greater galaxy but also because it would open up proper study of Terran life and allow him to try and learn more about their own ancestors. Of course for now all of this was just a dream. Alack was still completing his education and only partway into his specialization. Avok his Daison keeps telling him to be patient but seems amused by a lack of it in the lad. Avok liked to joke "Don't get your diapers in a bunch" when Alack became short with him. The comment would always get the young lad to stop speaking and blush. Alack was the oddball. He quite liked diapers and had continued to wear them well past the age most stopped. That said he wasn't along in this, others were like him certainly but it certainly wasn't the average. Avok never discouraged Alack against it though having always told Alack to decide for himself matters such as this. Avok knew that beneatht he tough exterior and jokes shown to mot that Alack had a much gentler and softer side. It could be seen when he looked at a new stuffed toy or when he gazed in wonder at some ancient artifact spell bound by the tales that might be woven around the silent item. Alack would be a most accomplished archeologist and paleontologist someday Avok was sure of it. The boy had a passion for it that Avok hadn't seen since his great grandfather. But for now school friends called and Alack stopped turning to wave at a friend who was coming up behind him. The thrill of adventure and lost knowledge would wait. Today was just a day with a friend.
