Spontaneous imagining, like your imagination turning to the driver/car that caused an upset, can help us to identify emotions that we may be having.

Some people, like those with alexithymia, may only be able to produce controlled imagining, and so can walk through each potential emotional response to see what triggers a physical reaction.

Technique described in: "Emotionally Dumb, an overview of Alexithymia", by Jason Thompson.

What's even more aggravating than someone cutting you off in traffic is being stuck behind someone sitting still at a green light while they're texting.  
Then just before the light turns red, they go and barely make it through on the amber light, leaving everyone else waiting on another red.
