L: After they'd finally finished the water world and defeated its boss, Meganium and Inteleon enter the desert world next. "Ah man, of course the worst world for me is right after the best one..."
N: Meganium: I'm not a fan of this desert heat
L: "And I'm not a fan of the dryness. Let's try to get through this one fairly quick. And hope there's an oasis-themed level, too..."
N: Meganium: Yeah, let's get going
L: The two progress through the first level without much difficulty, but the second one brings in a new obstacle: Quicksand. "Oh great, I can already tell what that is. Such a pain..."
N: Meganium: I hope these are escapable
L: Inteleon sighs. "They probably are, I don't know any games where quicksand is guaranteed death. Still, it's gonna be annoying, I've never really liked quicksand in games."
N: Meganium: I don't mind quicksand as long as you can escape it
L: "I suppose we should at least check. We did just hit a checkpoint right before this."
N: Meganium: I'll go first *Meganium step into the quicksand as she started to sink fast but she jumps repeating to escape* It is, but hard to escape with being quick and all that
L: "Alright, good, but they sure put the quick in quicksand with this, huh? We're gonna get too tired to stay up pretty fast."
N: Meganium: Yeah, better avoid it as much as we can *They continue through the level, as they go through the third level of desert world, they haven't notice that they are sinking in the slower version of quicksand yet* Huh, the sand here feels different now
L: "It does... Crap, I think this whole level's quicksand! We've gotta get through this fast!"
N: *They soon notice that they are already sinking in quicksand* Meganium: Oh, this one is much slower... and wetter it seems
L: "Huh, only just noticed it's sort of wet..." Inteleon smiles at Meganium. "At least we've got that going for us."
N: Meganium: Yeah, this is way better then the fast version
L: "First bit of moisture since we got to this world... Man, it feels so good to finally have a bit of water on me again!"
N: Meganium: This wet quicksand makes me feel like I'm being planted *They sink to their knees as they don't plan on escaping*
L: "Haha, I didn't even think of that! And I could water you, too!"
N: Meganium: Yeah, I feel like I just use ingrain
L: "Always wondered what it would feel like to use moves I normally can't... Guess this is a pretty good way to find out with at least that one, huh?"
N: Meganium: Yeah, I feel like I want to sink deeper into this quicksand
L: "Me too! It's gonna be nice to finally submerge again after so long. I wish this game had better water physics, so I could just fill a hole and dive in."
N: Meganium: Even though we have drown a few times in water world just to test our breath holding *They sink to their waist*
L: "I think I liked that world a lot more than you did, you weren't all that good at swimming compared to me. But yeah, that drowning WAS weirdly fun."
N: Meganium: Yeah, water type usually the fastest swimmer. We were a bit scare of drowning at first when we about to make our first underwater death
L: "It was SUCH a relief when we found out how little it hurts! I mean, it's fairly painful in this, but I imagine it's still way less so than it'd really be."
N: Meganium: I can bet that this quicksand will do the same, a peaceful death under the deadly sand
L: "It's probably gonna feel a lot different from water, we're gonna have sand in our mouths... Hopefully it doesn't feel too bad."
N: Meganium: Given that it's wet, we should be fine. I don't have any fear of quicksand at all
L: "Yeah, I'm not really that scared either. It's definitely gonna be interesting to go under something other than just water."
N: *They sink to their chest* Meganium: I do hope this is bottomless, it's so relaxing to be in here
L: "It probably IS bottomless, I don't see why it wouldn't be. I bet it's gonna feel even better once we're under!"
N: Meganium: Yeah, this will be my favorite place to be in
L: "Starting to look like that one spot in the water world is gonna end up being only my second favorite, yeah!"
N: Meganium: The one part of our least favorite world is one of our best moments, I bet we didn’t expected that to happen
L: "Well, maybe YOUR least favorite world, I had a great time there! Just like you with the forest one!"
N: Meganium: I didn’t hate it as much as you do, but this world sure make us change our mind when we first come across this lovely quicksand. I am feeling refreshed from this wet sand *They sink to their neck*
L: "I know, just last level I was complaining about this being a thing... Now I love it!"
N: Meganium: I think I’m starting to love quicksand, oh my. Look how deep we are. Just idling in here and let the wet soft quicksand slowly sink us more and more
L: "Yep, almost there now! I bet the developers didn't expect someone to just let themselves sink here!"
N: Meganium: Yeah, especially the slow version *Meganium lift her one front leg up* I look so helpless in the easily escapable quicksand
L: "Now that I think about it, what's even the point of this being here when it takes so long to be a threat and can be escaped so easily? ...Guess we're probably not gonna find out, huh?"
N: Meganium: We are letting it look like a threat by letting ourselves sink
L: "Yeah, if anyone saw us they'd assume we were in a lot of trouble. Ha, once we've been down long enough, that'll be true!"
N: Meganium: And sinking deep enough to look like we are in danger *The sand reach their chin*
L: Inteleon starts tilting his head back. "Ah, here we go. Glad to have you here for this, I don't think I would've done this on my own."
N: *Meganium tilts her head back* Meganium: I always wanted to be sinking in quicksand like this, I feel like I’m fully planted
L: "I'm starting to see why grass types like planting themselves, this feels so good!"
N: Meganium: Especially quicksand, this is a perfect place for a grass type *They struggle to keep their mouth above the surface*
L: "N-not so much for a water type, but you don't see me complaining." Inteleon is trying to stretch up a bit so he can still talk.
N: Meganium: That’s because this contains water, mixed with sand. We are so close now
L: "Think I'd love it regardleblbl!" Inteleon's mouth goes under, though he can still breathe through his nose for now.
N: *Meganium mouth sinks under as she still breath through her nose*
L: Inteleon takes some deep breaths while he can, and smiles as his nose finally goes under, holding his breath under the quicksand while blowing some bubbles.
N: *Meganium sinks under the quicksand as she starts blowing some bubbles*
L: With the visible breath meter turned off, all the Pokemon have to go off for how bad they need air is how their lungs feel. Inteleon knows he likely has longer than Meganium, so he speeds up his exhaling a little to make sure they'll drown at roughly the same time.
N: *Although Meganium breath mater shorter then Inteleon, she lose health slower then Inteleon knowing that she can hold on for a good while*
L: Now remembering just how much more health Meganium has than him, Inteleon goes back to bubbling at the same rate as when he'd first gone under.
N: *They happily sink farther under the sand*
L: Inteleon imagines that Meganium must not be doing so well on breath at this point, since he's starting to feel a bit of strain himself.
N: *Megnium was ignoring the strain as she smile from being under the sandy depths, her breath meter now down at quarter*
L: Inteleon's own breath meter, while he can't see it, is only about half as drained as Meganium's. He finds himself oddly excited at eventually seeing her health go down once she's drowning.
N: *Meganium nearly at her limit as her breath meter nearly drained, eagerly awaiting what comes next after the bar empties*
L: Pausing his bubbles for now, Inteleon listens for when Meganium inevitably starts gasping.
N: *Meganium starts inhaling sand and smile as she enjoys her lungs slowly fill up with sand as she slowly losing health*
L: Inteleon smiles as he hears Meganium start breathing sand, and he goes back to bubbling even as he's getting fairly close to his own limit.
N: *Meganium ignore the pain as she embrace the wet sand slowly smothering her*
L: Now needing to practically spit out bubbles, Inteleon soon empties his lungs entirely. He doesn't have long before he'll breathe at this point, but he's perfectly fine with that.
N: *Meganium now feeling half drowned, she sense that Inteleon is started to drown as she made a slight giggle*
L: Inteleon instinctively grabs his neck as sand rushes down his throat, but lets go after a couple seconds, able to handle the pain. This feels quite different from when he and Meganium had drowned in water before, taking a fair bit more force to breathe the sand.
N: *Meganium nearly drowned as her lungs are filled with sand*
L: Not having very long until his health is out, Inteleon tries something he'd thought of after the water levels. He gasps sand once again, then holds it in as if it were air, even puffing his cheeks, intending to hold this sandy breath until he's fully drowned.
N: *Their health are both drained as they release one big bubble before happily drowned in a sandy bliss*
L: Just a few seconds later, they both regain awareness at the last checkpoint they'd reached. "Oh, and we're back. Man, that felt so good... I always love that big bubble that comes out when we drown too, even just hearing it is great~"
N: Meganium: Yeah, I enjoy it more then the water. It makes me feel like I was a seed planted in the soil. I feel like a healthy Meganium
L: "Kind of wish I could enjoy that the same way you do, but I'm fine with what I've got. Should we get back to the game now?"
N: Meganium: Yeah, maybe we’ll come back here after we beat the game
L: "For sure! I hear there's all sorts of mods for this too, we can play around with those once we're done!" Inteleon and Meganium carry on through the game, though that wouldn't be the only time in it they'd let themselves sink in quicksand.
