Unification of Lynerus and Caelus
Lynerus passed back and forth in her living space as Caelus glanced down at the letter that had unnerved his mate. “Ten years. Ten years since I left home, my siblings all because my parents never stopped fighting and now they wish to see me. Ever since dad saw me in the battle of Warfang I feared this would happen. Aaaarrgghh! What do I do? I so wish to see my siblings, but not that, that bitch of a mother Aashni. She miss treated not just me, but my siblings and even dad when he was doing his job as a lieutenant in the army.”

“What did she do?” Caelus soon regretted that question as his mate glared at him, her eyes glowing with what looked like sparks of lightning escaping her eyes and a crack of lightning echoed behind him, never had he seen her this mad.

“What did she do?! How about abuse me, yelling at me saying I would amount to nothing due to my weak element! Poor physic! Many from school said my colors matched her clan colors yet mom always reminded me they were not. Though she would ‘care’ for us, dad did most of the caring when he was home then I had to step up when he was in service, taking them to school, bringing them home, and trying to feed them. Aashni only showed interest and cared when her friends were there, wanting to prove she was a proper mom. Whenever dad was home all she would do was start ridiculous arguments that ended with her slapping him or me when I tried to intervene or take my siblings away. I had many marks on my rump, back, tail and hind legs, dad always had to hire private healers less Aashni scared them off. If it weren’t for dad she would have…” Lynerus stopped herself feeling her tears escape, taking a shaky breath as Caelus got off the couch and held her until she was ready. “She was going to hire a dragon from her clan to be my first at ten to experience the ‘rough nature of males’ as she put it, yet dad learned of it and that was the last straw, and threatened divorce, something her clan heavily looked down upon, and wished him to say. Foolishly he did and after a few months she was nice, hoping for a change yet she turned back to her old self again. Two more years and I couldn’t take it anymore and left a month after I turned twelve then…well you know the rest.”

Caelus never knew his beloved storm had that rough of a life, he held her firmly in his embrace with no words to say, He felt sorry for her and how bad she had it, looking back to his life, he felt like a prince, having loving parents that made sure he was ok, well fed and had a proper education. He pulled her as close as he could, as she sensed his emotions and nuzzled into him.

“I’m so glad I have you Caelus. Not only do I feel safe with you, you have cared for me, even if I was a bitch to you and the others at first…and you were more gentle than what Aashni would have me believe.”

“I’m glad I can provide a sense of safety for you. If you wish to return to the city and see your family, you know I will be there for you, for whatever you need.”

She was silent thinking about whether or not she should go. Sighing as she deeply wished to see her siblings and her father again and hopefully take her siblings away from their abusive mother, hoping her father would allow it. “Alright, let’s go.” Taking another deep breath she let Caelus release her before they left home and she led him towards the city, her nerves were still there as her flight was shaky yet she laughed as the wind manipulated around her and kissed some of her sensitive parts, even felt the wind kiss her rump. The lightning dragon felt herself smile as it made relax more while Caelus flew under her, kissing her chest, neck then halted her in the air to share a passionate kiss. “Thank you.” Was all she needed to say before they carried on. Passing through the city’s gates they waved to the knights above before moving through the city towards the Third Division where not only her family was housed but also the army fort, for her father wished to be close to his fort. Seeing many electric dragons moving about she soon found her old home, with the Thunderborn banner hanging on the walls, descending down she landed before the door and froze as her fears of seeing her mother arose once more. She turned to her mate and he nodded yet before they could move the doors rolled open and a blue blur tackled Lynerus to the ground.

“LYNERUS!”

Caelus watched as a two toned blue dragoness pinned his mate to the ground, nuzzling and hugging her. Her horns were similar to Lynerus but had a more pronounced upwards curve to them, bright blue markings stood out against her storm blue scales, she had long pointed thumbs at the end of her wings, like her sister had spin fins along her head and neck, back and rump trailing to her tail that ended in a fin with three spins on either side with membrane between them. “I missed you so much sister.”

“I missed you too, Raida.” Lynerus wrapped the blue female in her embrace, glad she still had that positive carefree attitude she had as a child. The sisters stayed there holding and nuzzling each other.

“Come on. Everyone is excited to see you.” Raida bound over to the door, not hearing the mumble under Lynerus’ breath as she still believed her mother was living here. As the door rolled open, Raida walked side by side with her sister, smiling as she and Caelus walked through to see the others waiting there for her. She saw her father, Raidan, her younger brother Tordon sitting before a dragoness she had never seen before.

“Lynerus! I’m so happy to see you again.” Raidan walked over, hugging his daughter. He was a deep blue with a white underside, white lightning marks along his body that bore the scars of war, horns that curled up, a side horn that had a similar curve to it, side fins under his second horn ran along his jawline. He had two thumbs on his wings pointing in both directions, his spin fins were connected with a white membrane, running from his head, neck, rump and tail that had side spines connected by membrane before ending in a tuning fork.

“Lightning sis.” Looking down, Lynerus smiled.

“Little thunder.” She leaned down nuzzling her younger brother who had grown up to be a fine dragon, he was a similar gold color as her but had purple markings along his neck, down his sides arms and wings all connected while those on his thighs and tail were also connected, his chest was a similar hue and his wings shared the same granite as hers. He was at least twelve years old now but now she was looking up to see not her mother but a different dragoness standing beside her father. “Um dad…who is this?” She asked back stepping to get a better look at this new female. Pale orange with a purple chest with white sides and diamonds in the center, light purple lightning marks along her flanks, spines ran down her head, neck, rump and tail that ended also in a fork.

“This is Kohara. Aashni and I got divorced two months after you left. It took me too long to see how abusive she was and I blamed your leaving on her and mostly myself and took everything, the house, custody of Raida and Tondor and she left, claiming I had her caged up in here, where she is, I do not know…and don’t care for Kohara has been a far better partner for me, and a better mother to your siblings.” He gave a soft sigh, “I hope she might be a mother to you as well and heal the scars Aashni left.” He moved aside to let the two dragonesses meet while he caught a glance of Caelus sitting off to the side smiling seeing his mate seem so relaxed and seeing her family again.

“Lynerus, it is a pleasure to finally meet you, as Raidan said before, I am Kohara, and I have heard many great things about you from these two also I have heard about your adventures that are slowly becoming legendary.” Kohara smiled seeing the famous daughter. “Raida has told me all about the horrible experience all of you had to endure under your biological mother, but I promise to you know, that I wish to be a better mother to you as I have to these two, even if you don’t see me as you’re moth…” She was cut off as Lynerus hugged her, shocking the lightning dragoness before embracing the young heroine as her daughter, then all eyes turned to the lone grey dragon sitting by the door.

“I’m sorry young dragon for leaving you out of this, and you are?” Raidan asked, coming towards the wind dragon.

“Caelus, your daughter’s betrothed.” Everyone turned to Lynerus as she smiled sheepishly, her cheeks now turning a crimson red, walking over to her soon to be mate.

“Way to crack the lightning, hon.” She elbowed him before turning to her family. “Yes, me and Caelus are planning on getting married, shortly after our friends Spyro and Cynder.”

“And with your permission sir, I wish to marry your daughter.” Caelus looked at Raidan, getting the older lightning dragons to smile, it is rare to see dragons asking for the parents blessing these days as it is often written in unification contracts.

“You have my permission to marry my eldest, Caelus.” He smiled, getting the others to smile, especially Raida as she already could only imagine herself dawned in a wonderful new robe walking before her sister then sitting beside her as her best dragoness. Moving further into the main living space, gathering on the furniture Lynerus learned that her father met Kohara two years after her disappearance, she told she knew about the search parties and avoided them before she told Raidan she ventured further North to avoid all search parties, having no intentions of returning to an abusive life. Raidan understood her decision, as heartbreaking as it was. He explained they spent a month of searching while he also searched his soul and could not forgive himself for her leaving and what she endured from Aashni and divorced her for good, retelling what he already explained before claiming the rights to his children and their home, pushing her out, and for three years avoided any affection from other potential new mates as he took care of his children, insuring they were healing from both physical and mental scars they received from their ungrateful mother. Meeting Kohara outside the walls as she practiced her magic, before writing it down, as she was a scholar in both magic, the elements, yet nature was her favorite. Comparing the natural state of things before and now after the reconstruction of the world. She was the first to speak to him, and over the next nine months, they got to know one another before he proposed to marry her and now here she is happily married with Raidan and to Lynerus’ surprise was pregnant with his second clutch of eggs.

“W-wait, y-you mean to say I’m going to be…”

“Yup, I’m going to be a big sister, and that makes you the eldest…sheesh your old.”

Lynerus gasped, turning to her sister, holding her paw over her heart pretending to be hurt. “Oohh, sis, how can you wound me so?” She then pushed over Raida as they laughed.

Caelus and Lynerus explained their journeys together with Spyro and the small team, meeting them in the Northern Mountains where she was as well as himself after his parents death against dreadwings, making the family feel sorry for his loss. Retelling the battles they were in, the training they underwent, telling them he had mastered his while Lynerus was an elemental, shocking her father she had surpassed him. Exploring the world, making friends within the team, the guardians and even the Eldest of Elder Guardians, Allan. From there they told about the battle against the skyvenger pirates, when they confessed their love for one another, the battle of Warfang when Lynerus and Raidan were reunited if only for a few days while they defended the city from the siege, then captured by FrostSpears for collateral damage to the city, only to be rescue by Allan and the others, and the final battle against the Destroyer and watching the final battle against Malefor, praying for her friends safety.

Raidan was amazed by how well she handled some of her journeys and pleased how her training improved beyond what he could teach her. They continued to talk throughout the day, learning her sister is learning to be a healer for those who had suffered similar abuse as she did, she also has a crush on one of her friends, Aratira, while her brother was still in flight, and was crushing on a water dragoness, getting a tease from his older sister. Staying for supper, Caelus showed his prowess in the kitchen, cooking the geese as they continued their family catch up over dinner as her father was now a Commander and was next in line to rule their clan. With night now upon them, Lynerus cuddled with her siblings in the living space while Caelus pressed himself against his mate, covering her and her siblings with his broad wing best he could, while Raidan and Kohara headed up to the master bedchamber.
