Wow. This song has been a trip, and it is a real treat, too. If I recall correctly, the initial iteration of this song spawned somewhere from an idea Penmark and I had discussed. The song was supposed to be for him based on whatever his idea was, I think it was the melody or riff that’s at the beginning, but at this point, I don’t remember. All I know is, this song has become more personal as even back then it was made to express my appreciation for him.
Recently, I recreated the original version of the song, not having the original project anymore and having to recreate it from scratch. The problem with the old version was mainly that it had no direction. There was this odd mid section, like, break or bridge that just… I don’t know what I was thinking back then. Actually, no, that isn’t true. I genuinely think my thought process was, “I don’t know what to do for this part so here’s whatever.” I know; not the best strategy, for sure. This go around, I actually wanted to have a purpose and theme of some sort. In the time that I’ve known Penmark, I’ve learned not only that he enjoys metal music, but he also used to be a heavy metal vocalist. This was wonderful! Now I have a theme! I was going to make a heavy metal song!
*watches various videos and tutorials on what metal music is and how to write a metal song*
Okay! Now that I have some sort of idea of what I am doing, I tried my best to work in metal elements to what was otherwise a dubstep-like song. But, also, back then, I didn’t really know how to make dubstep or brostep. So, rather than trying to go for brostep, I took some time to learn how to make a more classic dubstep song and, well, the song evolved to be a hybrid fusion of dubstep and metal – my favorite music genre and Penmarks!

Oh, and throughout the song, I used various samples, voice clips, and sound effects from various things that Penmark enjoys… including one from his own video!
