I don't really know why it's a popular song around this time, but I hope you enjoyed the jumpscare at the beginning! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Firstly, I would like to address the title. With my understanding of songs, remixes, and song usage, this is not a “remix” because there are no clips or samples being used from anyone else’s recordings. The song was made entirely with only a MIDI file of the original piece, which I thought might also consider this to be a remix, but using a MIDI file of the actual piece is the same as transcribing it myself, which I was going to do until I realized this point. That being said, while it is then technically a “cover”, it is a cover of an old classical piece… actually, hang on, let me check that… well, apparently that wasn’t the “classical” era, but rather the “Romantic” era. But still, it was in 1875, so the song is in the public domain. I’ve noticed that covers of songs these old don’t say “remix” or “cover” or anything like that even if they are a fully orchestral version of it. So, this is my version, my rendition, of the piece, so the name is as it is.
This was an interesting song to make. I wanted to cover a song that was known as a Halloween song but wasn't a pop song or something. Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 by Bach came to mind, as well as songs like "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff and "Inferno" from The Divine Comedy by Robert W. Smith, but when this song came to mind, all I could think about was a one particular techno remix I remember hearing years ago, then that song got stuck in my head, so I decided on this song X3
Also, because I was never sure why this song is a spooky Halloween song, I tried making it a tad spookier, even adding a jumpscare :3c Which, if you're reading this, you've likely already experienced~
