It's pretty rare that I get art of the many, many side characters in my Legend of Ahya series. For fans of the books, it is delightful treat and joy to see such characters that they've fallen in love with get the full artistic representation treatment. Moira Baccharin is one such character that hasn't really been seen in art outside of a few illustrations found within the printed books themselves. She is a pangolin found captive in book 3 of my Legend of Ahya series, Figure of Prophecy, that tags along with the Wolford crew in efforts to save the rest of her fellow orphans who had fallen victim to the Arbiter and been given powers through his experiments. Her power is a rather painful one, but extremely effective. She can tear off scales from her body, charge them with kinetic energy and throw them to explode with devastating effect. Think of Gambit from X-men and you got the idea for this pangolin, except she's far more innocent and perhaps a bit too trusting of strangers, but she is loyal to a fault and wants everyone to get along. As stated in the title, she's always looking towards a bright future.

Are pangolins endangered in your setting like in real life?

No, they're just like any other species in the book world. They exist just fine alongside the rest. :)

If they were endangered, it probably would have added more drama to the character.
