O que é veganismo? Normalmente dizemos que veganismo é o ato de diminuir o máximo possível o sofrimento animal. Isso significa não comer carne e leite, mas também não vestir couro, lutar contra os maus tratos aos animais, proteger a biodiversidade, etc. Se uma pessoa é vegan porque ela se importa com o sofrimento animal, como ela poderia não se importar com o sofrimento humano? Quem é vegan não acha bom que o consumo de carne diminua por causa da inflação; não apoia um exército de ocupação só porque lá tem vegans; não é contra medicamentos que precisam de testes em animais. Veganismo sem justiça social é só uma dieta.

¿Qué es el veganismo? Solemos decir que el veganismo es el acto de reducir al máximo posible el sufrimiento animal. Eso significa no comer carne ni leche, pero também no vestir cuero, luchar contra el abuso de animales, proteger la biodiversidad, etc. Si una persona es vegan porque le importa el sufrimiento animal, ¿cómo podría no le importar el sufrimiento humano? Quien es vegan no cree que es bueno la gente comer menos carne por la inflación; no apoya un ejército de inflación sólo porque allí hay vegans; no está contra los medicamentos que necesitan testes animales. Veganismo sin justicia social es sólo una dieta.

What is veganism? Usually, we say veganism is the action of reducing animal suffering as much as possible. That means not eating meat or dairy, but also not wearing leather, fighting against animal abuse, protecting biodiversity, etc. If someone is vegan because they care about animal suffering, how could they not care about human suffering? A vegan doesn't praise people not eating meat because of inflation; doesn't support an occupation army because some of them are vegan; doesn't stand against medicine that requires tests in animals. Veganism without social justice is just a diet.

Le veganisme, c'est quoi ? On dit habituellement que c'est l'action de réduire la souffrance des animaux le plus possible. Ça signifie ne pas manger de la viande ni du lait, mais aussi ne pas porter de cuir, protéger la biodiversité, etc. Si quelqu'un.e est végan.e parce que la souffrance animale lui importe, comment poudrais la souffrance humaine ne lui importer pas ? Un.e végan.e ne crois pas qu'une réduction de la consommation de la viande par l'inflation est une bonne chose; ne soutient pas une armée d'occupation seulement parce qu'il y a des végan.e.s là-bas; ne s'oppose pas aux médicaments qui ont besoin des testes avec animaux. Le véganisme sans justice sociale est seulement un régime alimentaire.
