asked Cirrus: "what's the highest altitude you can reach before you either get lightheaded or too little air pressure for you to fly higher, whichever comes first."
"My flight doesn't actually rely on air or anything, I can just do it somehow. Because of that, and apparently having pretty durable lungs, the highest I've ever gone was, apparently, into the thermosphere! I don't know the exact height, but it was less than 99 miles, since I could still faintly hear. Can't safely go much higher, it was SO cold up there, and I could feel the low pressure trying to pull the air out of me. The view up there, though... Man... Can't believe a sight like that was above us all this time... I wish I could go even farther up than that."

S: on a calm afternoon, I find myself walking along a path and enjoying the sun, my tail swaying behind me as I walk...I happen to notice cirrus just a couple of feet away, looking up at the sky...I smile and walk over to greet them
"Heya Cirrus! Whatcha up to??"
L: Cirrus turns to look at you. "Oh, hi! I was just about to do something I've never done before; in all the time I've been around, I've never once gone into space. I was gonna fly up and see what it's like up there."
S: "What??? Oh boy..." I was starting to get flashbacks of those times I worked in space at that station, I shudder a bit "Not sure you would wanna go up there, it's kind of scary...I should know since I've experienced space before... and I didn't have a pleasant time with it..."
L: "You've been up there? What was it like? I want to be as informed as possible before I do this."
S: "Heh... I mean to some people it may feel like its beautiful up there, but definitely not to me, I can't tell you much cause of how scared I was when I went up there...holding your breath in space is not fun... at all"
L: "Doesn't sound to me like it's all that different from just being underwater. Just gotta not let any air out, right?"
S: "Yes...but it's actually pretty different believe it or not, if you don't got a tight hold of your breath, space around you will start like sucking the air out of you, and it's pretty scary... I don't like being up there without a suit... I've had such bad luck with spacesuits lately..."
L: "Sounds like an interesting challenge, I can still go a fairly good time without any air in me... You don't have to come with me, but I'm still planning on going up there."
S: "Ugh..." I was hesitating, wondering if I should go up there with him, and having nothing to do today I was getting bored "Wish I had Dan with me...he could probably convince me further to go up with you...as much as I don't want to, I'm extremely bored today and need something exciting to do"
L: "I don't know whether he'd be up for this... But I can do my best to keep you safe if you end up feeling like going up there."
S: I look up at the sky a bit fearfully, but eventually I speak up "Well... call me crazy but... I think I'm gonna go up there with you, mainly because I've been up there before and you haven't...I'll at least know what to expect...plus I haven't been up in space in quite a few months..."
L: "Okay! Hopefully you at least won't panic up there, I can't imagine you're going to end up liking it with how scared about it you seem to be."
S: "Y-yeah... I'm probably gonna be pretty terrified up there, but I'll try to have fun in some way..."
L: "I'll try to find some way for you to enjoy yourself up there, even though there won't be a whole lot around."
S: "Well, alright...thanks cirrus, maybe since it's been so long since I've been up there I'll have some kind of fun? I don't know, since I'm not gonna be wearing a spacesuit and all that"
L: "Hopefully, at least." Cirrus lays down on the ground so you can climb onto him.
S: I hesitated a little bit before I sigh and climb onto cirrus' body, getting myself comfortable "At least your body is soft to ride on"
L: "Well, I'm glad you'll have some comfort. Hang on tight!" Cirrus starts flying into the sky with you on him.
S: "Whoa!!" I get a good grip on cirrus "Jeez, I forgot how fast you fly! Never rode on your back before"
L: "Sorry, shouldn't have accelerated so fast!" Before long, you and Cirrus are extremely high up in the air, and continuing to go even higher.
S: I look down and notice how far up I am, I yelp a bit and clutch tighter to cirrus' body
"I-i haven't never been this up before! Jeez!"
L: "Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't fall or anything. Just relax and enjoy the ride, I'll let you know when we're starting to leave the atmosphere."

S: "O-ok..." I try to calm myself down and enjoy the ride on cirrus, relaxing a tad as I forgot how soft cirrus' body is to touch, smiling
L: After a bit longer, Cirrus stops, the two of you now well above the clouds. "Okay, from here, it's gonna start getting harder to breathe as we keep going up. There isn't as much air above here. This is where I intended to start holding my breath."
S: "Uh oh..." I was brought back to reality as I knew we were getting close to actaully being in space and I was starting to get scared again
L: "Are you okay? Still sure you want to do this? 'Cause I'm fine with bringing you back down if you've changed your mind."
S: "I-i don't know now... I'm already up here so I feel like i should just go for it honestly but..." I sigh heavily, unsure what to do
L: "We can try out going higher, and if you get too scared, you can just start tapping on me and we can go back down. Does that work for you?"
S: "Y-yeah, I guess so...I'm willing to try something rather then just giving up right on the spot..."
L: "Alright, get a deep breath, then we'll continue up. And hey, if this works out, we'll already be well on our way to leaving the atmosphere entirely!"
S: "A-alright, oh boy..." hesitantly, I take a deep breath of air and hold it in fearfully, readying myself to go up there
L: Cirrus gets a deep breath and holds it too, before continuing on his way up. Gradually, the blue sky is beginning to darken as the atmosphere thins.
S: "Mmmm...." I was getting nervous as we were getting closer to the actaul part of space
L: As the ascent continues, the wind rushing around you and Cirrus fades, and everything starts to get quieter as the environment gets close to becoming a vacuum.
S: "Mmmm!" I was starting to get really scared now as things slowly start to turn in a vacuum as space was really close by now
L: Finally, all sound stops entirely as you and Cirrus enter space. Cirrus stops in place, smiling as he looks around at the view.
S: I whimper fearfully as I too look around, remembering what it's like being up here, while deep down I'll admit it was beautiful, I was still scared about it
L: Cirrus looks at you to check how you're feeling, since you do seem scared but haven't yet signalled him to go back down.
S: I kept trying to put on my best brave face for this, but it was getting increasingly hard to do so, my face already flushing red from my need to breathe
L: Seeing you're blushing so much already, Cirrus starts flying back down fairly quickly. In just a few seconds, he and you are back at the highest point where you can breathe freely. "So, how was that?"
S: I gasp in the air once I was able too "Yep...I'm still terrified.... but I did feel like 5% better with you here... it wasn't as bad as when I first went into space without a suit..."
L: "It did seem like you were doing decent up there... But I can tell your fear was really cutting down on how long you could hold your breath."
S: "Y-yeah... I could normally go much longer then that, but with how scared I was it really did cut it down..."
L: "It'll get easier on you if we keep trying, and I'm sure you'll eventually not really be scared any more. Do you want to try going up again?"
S: "...n-not really if I'm honest, but I know you want to go back up again and I wanna accompany you so...I guess we can try one more time then..."
L: "Alright, one more. And who knows, maybe we'll see something cool up there! Whatever that could be..."
S: "I kind of doubt that, but hey doesn't hurt to look I guess..."
L: "Maybe... Anyway, deep breath, then we'll head up to look around some more."
S: "O-ok" after some more hesitation I take another deep breath and hold it in, this time pinching my nose shut to hopefully last a little longer up there
S: "O-ok..." I try to calm myself down and enjoy the ride on cirrus, relaxing a tad as I forgot how
L: Cirrus holds his breath and starts flying back up. In a bit of a shorter time this time, he and you are at the beginning of space again, and Cirrus starts flying along instead of up, able to go much faster now that there's no wind to knock you around.
S: I held on tight to cirrus and my own breath as I try to be brave, looking around but slowly getting scared once again
L: There doesn't seem to be a whole lot to see, and you can barely even tell you're moving, but Cirrus is clearly enjoying himself.
S: I start to whimper again as my face flushes red once more, there was nothing interesting to distract my mind, so therefore I just get more scared
L: Cirrus looks back to check on you again, disappointed that you're already running out of breath again. He starts heading back down so you can breathe.
S: once we get to a breathable part again I gasp in the air
"I-im sorry cirrus, no matter what I try to do I end up getting scared! I hope your at least satisfied with what you saw"
L: "It's alright... I did enjoy being up there, at least. Maybe at some point I'll find some way to keep you from getting as scared up there."
S: "Yeah maybe... well, your in 2nd place for the person who can keep me calm, my buddy treecko did better then you...he at least got me to stay relaxed enough to stay up there for a while, much longer then with you helping me"
L: "Then if we do this again sometime, we ought to bring him with us. That should be a pretty big help."
S: "With you and treecko helping me? Yeah that should definitely make me feel a lot better, I just saw him not that long ago...we went on a swim together and had a lot of fun"
L: "And I've still been thinking about flying to another planet, as well... Just haven't found the right one for that yet. THAT would definitely distract you from being scared!"
S: "Oh yeah...that would be awesome, but we should definitely save that for later until I can get more comfortable with being in space, I'm sure you and treecko would be a great help for that"
L: "Definitely, yeah, it's gonna be rough if you're going through your air as fast as that. Do you want to head back down for now?"
S: "Y-yeah, that's enough space adventure for one day, heh... I kinda wanna see solid ground again"
L: "Alright, let's get back down there." Cirrus starts flying back down toward the ground.
S: I smile as we make our way back to the ground "Thanks for letting me tag along cirrus, I did have some kind of fun with that"
L: "It was nice to have you with me for that, I thought I was going to be doing that alone."
S: "Well part of the reason for coming was that way you aren't alone... hehe"
L: "Yep, and thanks for that." Cirrus reaches the ground again before too long, laying down to let you off him.
S: I happily get off "Phew, solid ground! I missed ya! Glad I got some kind of excitement today"
L: "Same here, it was really cool to be that high up for once!"
S: "Heh, yeah...and usually I'm not afraid of heights, but that was something different...now I'll have something to tell Dan, I was actaully on my way to his place before I saw you"
L: "May as well give you a ride there, if you want. Not like it's all THAT far from here."
S: "Sure why not! Your actaully kind of fun to ride around on after all!"
L: "Okay then, hop back onto me and we'll get going!"
S: "Ok!" I climb back onto cirrus and smile, my tail wagging behind me as I was looking forward to another ride on cirrus' back
L: Cirrus floats into the air once more and starts heading for Dan's house with you.
S: "Alright!!!" my tail wags behind me as we get going
L: It takes only about 10 minutes for you and Cirrus to arrive, and he lets you off his back again. "And, we're here!"
S: "Thanks for the ride cirrus, hope we get a chance to meet up again soon!"
L: "No problem! And yep, see you again soon!" Cirrus gives you a wave as he flies off.
