As Taylor grows older, has kids, and more responsibilities dumped upon her, it becomes harder to keep everything in order. Using her phone as a mobile mental list helps her keep track of things required of her. In a big city with plenty to do and watch out for, having a list of objectives is vital for surviving the streets. Sometimes looking for a specific address can be tiresome and stressful unless you have a map app to help guide your steps. Perhaps one of her children has wandered off and in her anxious state she did not notice. The tracking tabs in the kids backpacks go a long way to alleviating that parental fear as she searches for their last whereabouts. As for what this scene depicts, I am unclear what specifically she is looking for, but I know what it'll be once I finally reach it while writing book 5 in her ongoing series!
