Story based on a work of mine, edited by the northern plush :
It had been a good year at Krysh's Sunnyside Up Daycare. Its owner Mr Eris wanted to throw a party for the cubs, but was having trouble thinking of a theme.
Overhearing him talking to the staff about it gave Snow an idea. A few nights ago he had seen an old TV show about a kind of dance party called a Sock Hop. Snow approached the jaguar and suggested the Sock Hop to him. Mr Eris loved the idea and thanked Snow for it. He chuckled at and dismissed the little bears mention of collecting a "consulting fee" at the end of the party.
Coincidentally a friend of Mr Eris was about to open a 1950's themed Malt Shop. He talked to his friend and they made a deal. The daycare could use his shop for the dance and they could have all the ice cream, sodas and floats they wanted with 2 conditions. First, everyone needed to be dressed in 50’s Sock Hop fashions. Second, he could video tape the event to use in his grand opening commercials.
A few days later the cubs gathered at the Malt Shop. The jaguar was pretty happy to entertain all his cute cubs, and the cubs were excited to be able to stay up late for a party. All had taken log naps today hoping to be able to stay up until the dance ended at 10PM! A super late time for such little cubs.
But all the crinkling cuties didn't care about that right now, it was time to party!
Mr Eris made milkshakes and ice cream floats to keep the little ones hydrated and full of energy so they could dance the "night" away. No doubt they would all need plenty of diaper changes before bedtime (well more than usual), but he was ready with a good supply.
Mika was taking a milkshake break at the counter. They had opted for slacks and looked sharp with their suspenders. After finishing the first they cried “hit me again”, and Mr Eris replied “just one more for now, don’t want you getting a tummy ache” as he sent another milkshake sliding down the counter.
Circles was trying to keep up pace with the song princess Jazzy. The pair had been trying to outdo the each others dance moves all night in a good spirited and friendly competition.
Meanwhile the plush Arnie was twirling along with Ruby, as the otter danced and sang along to the silly song currently playing:
"Don't check on me, little cub Don't you listen to the squishes You're in my world now, not your world And I got friends on the otter side
Voodoo Spirits: (He's got friends on the otter side)
We are all about the wetness! Our diapers are never dry, so no need to check!"
Snow, the mastermind behind it all, danced with his best friend Loupy. “Everyone is having so much fun” the little wolf said as they tried to dance despite their soggy diaper. “Yes, I knew this was a good idea” Snow replied and twirled making his skirt lift. “Lets see if your butt still thinks so after the dance” Snow blushed and glanced at the cubs, then replied “It would be worth it”.
The cubs danced and enjoyed the cold treats, all of their diapers crinkling and squishing in unison to the music - and the fun was only starting!
When the clock finally struck 10PM the parents and caretakers started collecting their tired cubs for the trip home. Thats when Mr Eris noticed something strange happening. All the cubs getting ready to leave were removing their socks, and giving them to Snow before they left.
The jaguar approached the little bear, "Snow why are the cubs giving you their socks?"
"I told you I would collect my consulting fee at the end of the party" he said, as Jazzy dropped their socks into the growing pile in Snow's arms. "I'll need your socks too of course Mr Eris, they are part of my fee too."
Mr Eris smacked his forehead, he should have known the pizzly would try something like this. "Me, you and Mr Paddle need to have a talk on Monday ..."
Still worth it, the little bear thought as his pile of payment continued to grow in his arms.
