Zyn "grows up."
Panel 1
Caption: As they grew, they became aware of high minded concepts like economics and politics. They disliked that there weren't enough caretakers or other Maerians who wanted to adopt crechelings. It seemed like most people had to make do with only their basic needs met. They believed that society could do better.
Visual: Zyn in the midst of a protest with a number of other cubs in adult-ish looking clothing holding signs. A less detailed crowd is behind Zyn. Zyn is wearing a green headband, tan shirt, green vest, lavender skirt, grey trousers and brown boots. They have a close mouthed angry expression on their face. Their sign says: "A caretaker for every cub." Other signs say: SHAME on the Nobles. Do better for the least of us! No Excuse! Other signs are obscured. There is a green gradient background behind the crowd.
Panel 2
Caption: They dreamed of building high quality caretaker synths, so every cub would have a caretaker of their own. They didn't want to waste a minute.
Visual: A sleeping Zyn hugs a teddy bear in a toddler bed with railings. A nightlight shines from an outlet on the right side of the panel. The shadows of the bars lay across their body. A thought bubble shows a little low detail cub in a diaper holding the hand of a caretaker synth in a green vest and brown trousers. Both have a smile on their face.
Panel 3
Caption: Eventually, Zyn turned 18. That meant they were done being a crecheling, and would now become a Level 1 citizen.
A tearful Zyn walks away from Marigold, waving their hand back. Marigold is waving at Zyn as they walk away. They are sad that Zyn has to move out of the creche and into the "adult" world. Zyn wears a green sailor shirt and ascot.
Panel 4
Caption: But to earn the right to train as a synthmaker, they would need to become a Level 2 citizen.
Visual: Zyn is staring at a public job board. It is large and rimmed in gold. Its green screen lists 8 jobs in a grid. Zyn has their hands on their hips as they decide what job they'd like to do.
Panel 5
Caption: To do that, most cubs worked level 1 jobs for 10 years. Once that was up, you could get a training voucher and earn the right to train for a level 2 job.
Visual: An iguana little with a yellow construction hat, plaid shirt and orange vest sleepily waits for their hot cocoa in a sippy cup to cool. They are sitting in a booth. A tired looking black kitten with long black hair and yellow eyes boredly walks to a table in the cafe. She is holding a tray with two sippy cups in it as she works.
Panel 6
Caption: There was a faster way though. Dangerous jobs let you earn a training voucher in just 5 years...
Visual: Zyn is holding a pink and blue brochure for the Cub Guard. They are attentively reading it. They are wearing an orange shirt, tan skirtalls, and dark brown trousers. The brochure has a number of visible panels on it. "10 year grind got you down?" "5 years to Level 2" "Join the Cub Guard!". The last panel has a Maerian Deerhead on a blue background. Zyn is standing in the middle of a city circle.
