Been a bit of a while since we took to the uploads. (Don't worry, fellow explorers; your first full look at the Bulwark is coming any day from now.)

And to my fellow Dominicans this Creole Week: Sa ka fête! Anyway...

Introducing Linda Hollinger, Alfred's first girlfriend (since she was 9 and he was 11; I actually corrected her birth date on her character sheet to reflect this during this commentary's preparation). Hailing from Soufrière in the south of the Nature Island, she has a knack for documentary filmmaking, which more or less makes her a good match for Alfred (who is also artistically talented). Their relationship began when he rescued her from muggers at the start of Unspooled's first volume (that's my forthcoming book series), and they never looked back. Alfred and his cousin Sam always had a thing for hot teenage mice, and Linda was no exception. (It helps that every Christmas, she gets greeted by kisses under the mistletoe by her procyonine suitors.) The Linda affair later paved the way for the cousins' romance with Nomena, the Malagasy mouse hybrid they would meet in the "Grand Finale" of the Dixwell Chronicles.

This piece was put together--for US$42.56--by Brazilian artist "ThavoArtz" over the course of this week. Thavo, who also has an ArtStation, frequents the furry and art-commission subreddits every now and then. (As for me, my Redditing is now limited to the chat pane, the nightly bulletin highlights via Y! Mail, and a few Google results on the side--all thanks to late June's API standoff; keep that in mind in case you're wondering where I've gone offstream.) As my pitch, offered to a couple of artists days beforehand, went earlier in our discourse (18/10; link formatting preserved):

All of which reminds me: After this goes to press, we'll file "Hello Linda" by The Late Show--her title image song--as the third track to be confirmed for Volume 10 of Reflections by KLPC, which she and the Dixwell gang are part of. (Long story: "Hello Linda" was brought to my attention back in the twilight of the G+ era [back around late 2018], while Reflections is a series of multi-volume visual albums by Kino Lorber Panama City. At this writing, KLPC is on the verge of not only a rebrand, but also a relocation to new facilities in Madeira, Portugal in the wake of Florida's current political climate--no thanks to how faithful that island outpost was depicted in the ninth and most recent volume, Musical Grand Prix from June 2021. As for the Linda tune, it's already on file in the KLPC archives, inherited from Giraudel, Dominica precursor and vinyl-single archive-label concern Autrison.)

And we won't forget the fact that it all started with this promo at r/furry. (For that matter, Disney the company just turned 100 days ago.)
