δ (Delta) Darklings are my own twist, taking the concept of Eclipse and making a full species out of it, with some interesting changes!
In a parallel universe, while the infamous Black Comet made its appearance in conjunction with the ARK, the Dark Comet no longer exists. It had already crashed on the earth centuries ago in the barren arctic. The cold weather made it difficult for the alien species to hunt effectively, causing their bodies to react and start growing fur to stave off the cold. Their hunt for a more temperate climate would eventually lead them south and west, finding solace as their species evolved to adapt further.
In present day, δ Darklings are almost identical to other sapients in terms of body shape. Their arms, legs, and chests are covered in a dense fur similar to wolves, ranging in various shades of yellow, orange, or red. They can be found on the islands east of Yurashia, lounging in the mountain hotsprings. While still carnivorous by nature, they've become more docile and work to just eat invasive species.
With their similar biological forms, δ Darklings can procreate with other sapients. Though it seems hybridization is impossible, as the offspring either hatches as a larva or as a full sapient. Sapient babies are handed over to a foster agency due to their unique instincts having nearly led to some unpleasant situations. Larva are raised in the pack, their bodies similar to a small darkling but with somewhat underdeveloped legs.
