It was the first day of their new lives. A raccoon and a kobold, different versions of two, much larger dragons, had spent the entire day dragging boxes out of a truck. The latter had traveled for nearly a week to get to the new apartment, and the former had been setting things up, dealing with bureaucracy, and making sure that they had everything lined up for a good life for the next year.

The raccoon panted, wiping a bit of sweat off his forehead as he stood up straight. The last box was in, the moving truck was driving away, and they were alone in the apartment. He looked at the kobold and got a grin for his troubles. He couldn’t help but respond in kind.

It was the first day of a year living together. Neither of them were quite the same as they had been a year ago. Hell, the two dragons that had met each other all that time ago were far different from what they were in this day and age; the mere fact that the pair of them existed at all showed how much their creators had changed.

But that was good. CHANGE was good. And now they could try being something different.

“Feeling good?” the kobold asked.

“Yep. You?”

“Yep. Heh…annnd we’re done.”

“Teamwork!”

They high-fived, chuckling as they walked through their apartment one more time. THEIR apartment. So weird to say that as just friends. But it felt good nonetheless.

Sometimes, you experiment with new things. I’m still Drac, don’t you worry about that, but sometimes, it feels like I have this little trash-panda of a guy inside me, too. There may be some stories in the future of him, heh, as a sort of new sona.
