Details: So, I don't even remember how I initially became aware of the game "Critter Cove." Honestly, I'll apparently do things and then completely forget about them instantaneously. Well, in my emails, I noticed I was receiving newsletters for this adorable life-sim game and one of the emails mentioned signing up for their early access open beta playtest (whatever it was called), and, to my genuine surprise, they allowed me access to it and I was able to play some of it and, pretty much instantly, fall in love with it! I didn't even begin to scratch the surface with what that game is going to be, but since I am in their Discord server, I decided to show my support the only way I know how. While the game has a really comprehensive character creator and I was able to get my fursona in it as closely as I could, I still decided to draw a quick piece of fanart of my fursona in the game's art style, or as I seem to refer to it, the "pseudo-style", because much like that Super Animal Royal piece I drew back in the day, while it is predominantly in the game's art style, I still threw in some of my more notable aspects of my art, like, for one, giving him more facial features since that isn't really a thing their characters have. And then, of course, I gave him the correct amount of toes -- 4.
Oh, speaking of which, I have been slowly, slowly, every-so slowly, working on an update to my reference sheet in the background (which at this point is so slow that it's essentially on pause until I can get a new iPad and an Apple Pencil with which to continue using Procreate to draw digitally), but after further study of the feline form, I have settled upon the final conclusion that my characters, or at least Ulrich, will have 4 toes, but 5 fingers (and if I remember (which I didn't here), the extra pad known as the "carpal pad"). For his hands, he will have 4 digital pads, the dewclaw technically has (and is) a claw and therefore feasibly acts as a 5th finger, and then there will be the carpal pad. Whenever I get around to finishing his reference sheet, though.
