Confidence Booster ! ~ Caedyn asks Melecia over to play next weekend, and she agrees !  Uh-Oh !!!

Another wholesome post .... for now :)

I originally was not planning to color this intermediate story piece, but what the heck, I colored it anyway !

And d'aww, who could possibly say "no" to Caedyn's little face there in Panel 2  !? :)

THE STORY CONTINUES:

A few weeks after the bully incident, and carrying a large textbook to her next class, Melecia happens to walk past Caedyn in the main hall.

The hallway was still a little busy, so Caedyn waits until a couple other students finish up at their lockers and head off.

" H-Hey Melecia .... " Caedyn timidly says, as he latches his locker door shut.

She almost didn't hear him, but those big mouse ears catch it.  She stops, turns around, and with her always cheery smile, replies:

" Hey Caedyn, what's up ! "

" S-so, Melecia .... so I was wonderin n' all, on account of I still don't have much other friends in town yet .... would you wanna, oh I dunno, c-come over and play at my house next weekend, maybe we could play some games indoor and outsides too ..... ?  I heard it's spose'd to be warm and our backyard pool is open .... maybe we could go swimming too .... "

Asking that question was so hard for such a shy boy like him, but he felt a relief all at the same time.  He nervously awaited Melecia's reply, worried that if she declined or laughed, that he would be embarrassed, or worse, potentially "weird out" Melecia, whom he was just beginning to be friends with.

Caedyn's heart was fluttering.

" Hmmm, I dunno Caedyn, I'd really have think about that .... "

His heart just sank there for a second.  For a brief moment, he felt he messed it up.

" Ha !! Just kiddin' !  Of course I'd like to Caedyn, that sounds really fun !  Lemme just ask my parents if I can go, okay ? " she replies with eyes of glee.

They briefly talk about his address and the possibility of her parents dropping her off at Caedyn's house, perhaps.

" T-thanks Melecia "  He replies, relieved as if the great weight was lifted once again.

Melecia then heads off for world history class.

But now Caedyn realizes he's got to come up with some fun things to do, so as to not mess it up .... a whole 'nother task to ponder.  Oh, geez what did I just do !?  He ponders.

Later that night, Caedyn asks his parents.  His father questioned why he was inviting a girl over, but his mother (knowing his shyness to make new friends in this strange new town) convinces her husband, and they ultimately figure it for the best and agree.

Melecia asks her own parents that night, with them also having some slight concerns over Melecia going over to a boy's house, but they too eventually agree.  After some difficulty figuring out phone numbers, their parents have a call, and set up the play-date.  Melecia's mom and stepdad would drop her off at Caedyn's house on the other end of town, that upcoming Saturday.

Caedyn couldn't stop thinking about it.  He wondered if Melecia was truly as excited ?

Hopefully they behave, both of their parents thought to themselves.  Stay tuned ....
