Lala was known for being a very tempestuous tomboy of a she-wolf and could be especially biting toward Mowgli the Man-Cub. Proverbially speaking. Mostly. Lala decided to hunt something in a farther part of the Jungle and show up Mowgli, giving her the final word. This overconfidence led her Kaa, a brown python that shared the name of the Wolf Pack's ally. Sadly, he did not share the yellow snake's friendliness.

Luckily, this Kaa wasn't in the mood for food with a meal still in the belly. However, he wasn't in the mood for Lala's boisterous bragging and rather pathetic bids for attention. Her nasally voice didn't help either his mood. Kaa frowned upon the She-Wolf's tomboyish attitude as being rather unbecoming for a female and decided to be something of a good Samaritan before looking into her eyes.

Lala was initially caught off guard by the way Kaa's eyes flooded with colored rings and glowed rather... beautifully. Her frown vanished into a more bewildered expression before she swiftly shut her eyes and tried to turned her head away. She didn't fully know what it was but knew of predators that had special attributes that could sedate prey and had no plans to become lunch. However, the brief feeling of bliss lingered long enough for the rock python to exploit it.

"Look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you," Kaa commanded like a father scolding his troublesome daughter.

Lala felt too tempted by that taste of bliss to resist for long and ended up opening one eye almost involuntarily. The colorful glow of Kaa's eyes reflected in her own ring for ring and washed over her hunting instincts with that strange euphoria that felt addictive. However, a part of Lala still remained aware of what was really happened and urged her to fight it off. She wasn't a weak little girl. She couldn't let Mowgli get the final word.

Could she?

"P-please... n-no...." she begged desperately while still trying to turn away. However, a rather silly smile formed when her mouth hung open contrary to her whimperings. The bliss imparted unto her felt too good and whittled down her resistance. It felt a lot more easy and... pleasant to just give in. No need to hunt so much. No need to boost. No need to put down Mowgli for her own ego. Just... let go.

"Both eyes if you pleasssse," Kaa commanded with Lala obeying. He could feel the last of her resistance being whittled away to his growing satisfaction. He was hardly hungry at the moment but certainly had an appetite to put a she-wolf in her place. In any case, he saw it as being a good Samaritan. With his hypnosis, Lala would become a more likable sort among her pack and might allow her to attract a mate. She only needed a... nudge in the right direction so to speak.

Not long now...

Kaa's latest victim here is Lala, a rather bratty tomboy of a She-Wolf. In Jungle Book: Shonen Mowgli, the Anime adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's book, she's something of an Asuka Langley Sorryuu to Mowgli's Shinji Ikari: a tempestuous young heroine who often has some sort of beef with the more sensitive male hero. Often due to daddy issues. So... basically my favorite character. She does grow to be a better friend but even so, she adds quite a spice to the story. Pauline Little's voice for her is spot on to.

Here though, Lala's swelled head gets her in trouble when Kaa takes it upon herself to do something about her unladylike mindset. Well... better than being eaten alive in any case. What will become of her? Find out... maybe?

Jungle Book: Shonen Mowgli is available free on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLN27akZUvwXAxflo...

It is a very well done adaptation of Mowgli's adventures as well as other Kipling stories for Anime fans and general cartoon fans alike. It shows Mowgli grappling with the harsh Jungle life as well as who he might be as a human.
