Damn it. It has been a long time since a game has had me in it's iron grip like X-Com.
Even at work I could only think of playing and since I couldn't I began to doodle. At home I ripped myself away and polished it a little bit and here you have it.
Also the game has rule34 potential with the mind control thing ;3
Sen obviously is a Heavy. Big Booms are just his thing ^^
Awesomes. XD My favorites are my Sniper, and then Dakky is Support now, mainly healer. Freaking LOVE the new XCOM. Lots of Rule 34 potential, which I'll probably draw eventually. =P
But yeah. Snipers are ~<3, have a Laser Sniper Rifle and Pistol and a Skeleton suit with a grappling hook and everything.

And did the Grappling hook fling you over the map as well? ^^ I have a hard time picking a favorite class:
Support is great since their smoke bombs really can save your ass. Also 3 Medikit uses and instant revival :3 Sniper is cool for the long shots and damage :3 Heavy is just boomilicious... too bad it destroys the items carried... so i mostly weaken enemies or destroy cover. And Assault... I call shotgun!
I guess Assault is my favorite. Once you get it to Major they will have tons of Hitpoints. They can move their full move and still shoot. And they get the option of shooting twice. Combine this with the Alloy Cannon and the Stimulant and you have character that can go into Melee with a Berserker and even kill it in a single turn. This is just ♥

Yeah. I like support, I usually have two with me, my main that carries Medkits, and a second that uses smoke bombs and stuff. Snipers are awesome but they're relatively squishy. -.- I don't know know how many times I've nearly lost them for one reason or another, and I'm having a hard time getting Sniper classes. I have two right now. Heavy is interesting, I do use it for the same thing but when I need to do splash damage then I use the rocket to weaken them, unless I NEED to kill them unless there is like three people flanking my guys. My assualts are actally all using light plasma rifles. =P
I like the Support, 3 med kits, the ability to carry two items, and then at the last promotion your med kits can do an extra 4 healing, and this is the basic med kit, not even the upgraded one. XD
Nope. Not yet at least. Hehe. Yeah. I like support, I usually have two with me, my main that carrie
I'm just getting to the Psionic stuff. Building one of the centers now actually. So haven't been to that part yet. XD Just trying to level my mains up and get some cash and engineers.
I have 2 snipers, 2 heavies, 2 assaults, and like... 8 Supports. -.- I have no clue why. But it's like, you can't actually train them up to see what they're gonna turn into without going through a hour mission (Minus using that one training perk), so you just choose randomly and you tend to get random stuff. And yes. Money is always crazy. >.< I got an offer, it was like 8 light plasma rifles and they were gonna give me $2000. I was like. D: I don't have that many guns.

Yeah. I wish you could sell the old gear you no longer need. You have to hope for a good offer. I sold 4 plasma pistols for around 800 once... good times. Once you can create them however it is a good way to make money.
Yeah it is a bit random what you get. But at some point you have enough of each class.
My dream team consists of 2 Snipers, 2 Supporters, 1 Heavy and 1 Assault.
Yeah. I wish you could sell the old gear you no longer need. You have to hope for a good offer. I so
Yeah. My team usually consists of 2 Heavies, 2 Support, 1 Sniper, 1 Assault. Then one of the supports can be switched out with an extra assault depending.

Many combos are possible. I just like Supporters a lot with the ability to carry 2 items ^^ Also they have the 3 tiles extra movement. Thus one of them often carries the stun stick to stun enemies.
But Assault is also nice. I finished the game yesterday and my Assault babe with the nickname "Wolverine" became the key person. I put all skills into more damage and more crits. She can run up to any enemy and one shot it with her Alloy Cannon. And if the enemy is too far away?... Mind control :D

I think the way your rookie kills soldiers determines what class they will eventually become. I got a lot of snipers when shooting at folks with low percentage chance from a distance. Assault from those that closed in on a kill at short range. Support from those that healed, and I got my two heavies from those that used grenades from early on. I'm not sure if its a certain way to pull it off, but its seemed to work for me so far. I've got 16 soldiers, and 4 of each class. Though I usually go to missions with 2 snipers, 2 assaults, 1 heavy and 1 support by now.
Oh, and the sniper? She flies in the sky, shouting "DEATH FROM ABOVE" while shooting the most badass sniper rifle I could manufacture for her, and she's not exaggerating. I have laughed loudly at "Boom, headshot!" comments from friends that watched me play and then got the game for themselves too, especially as the sniper was promoted so she gets to fire twice in one round (she's the team's first colonel).
Rookies die very easily, and so do squaddies, though to a lesser extent. I wanted to load after I lost a soldier and try and play through that way, but then where's the risk and the thrill of things? I took an auto-save 1 time though. My heavy was aiming a bazooka and another fellow walked in room. I misclicked, and boom. He shot the car next to the sniper. Oops.
Anyhow, a great game, a lot of potential for making jokes and possibly making erotic art too.
As for the picture here, heheh I gotta love it, rookies that live long enough to get a nickname to themselves (and a higher rank) are definitely folks that can say not only were they harshly tested but walked away with a lot of hard lessons they learned in the line of fire.

Thing is, even that method I mentioned isn't foolproof I think. Long enough, and the soldier will evolve, regardless of how they've fought or haven't fought. I think getting assault or sniper is far easier than getting a heavy, I avoid grenades wanting the pieces of equipment for research and manufacturing, but getting an assault means you have to have someone get shot and live through the pain.
Its not confirmed anywhere that I know of, just observations that haven't been overruled just yet by my experiences with the game. And I agree, different types would have added to things, but they had to draw a line on just what they would and would not include.
Personally I kind of wish there was more to psions though. I'd love to see a story about a psion who begins as such, and advances to the top of the organisation through his/her abilities with the powers...
Well, that's what fanfiction is for I suppose. Nonetheless, love your image and the bit of humor. It helps to laugh and chuckle at things.

"getting an assault..." was meant to be "getting a support" in the message above. Ugh. Getting someone injured, and then patched up by a character intended as support by their medikit. Anyhow, yeah could be coincidence but I'm pretty impressed I got 4 of all. (Well, I dont know what I might have gotten from the rookies that died)

Too many commands & strategies to remember, and I would not buy it at all. I found some "games" on the 'net had about 20 commands. No sale. "Grepolis" was too difficult to play, and I was unable to get response from neighboring cities. I gave up and walked away, finally. The same for Neopets.
Mr.Sen Grisane, I've stuck to the theme of RPG. I don't know if my comments to OTHER players got your goat, or whether it was the ones to you, but I try to relate to what was being discussed. I don't want to lose you.
