I've seen those old Universal Studios Frankenstein movies from the 1930s. Those were really good. They made several sequels back in the 1930s. On the last movie (The Bride of Frankenstein - 1935) the monster is able to speak. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4BjdS5kzCo
There was a comedy remake of Frankenstein in 1974 staring Gene Wielder as Dr. Frankenstein. On funny part on the remake was the dialogue after the monster came to life: Dr. Frankenstein asks Egor, "When you stole that jar with the brain in it, did you happen to notice who's name was on the label". Egor answers, "Yes I did. His name was Abby. Abby Norrrrrrmal...I'm almost sure that was the name".
