"Sleeping and holding"

It takes an incredible set of lungs to be able to spend a night underwater on one breath, but what this bird has is more than capable. He even likes to sleep down there, and made a makeshift bed out of a bunch of aquatic plants! No need to worry about him; even in the morning, he'll only be just starting to feel any need to breathe.

*a lizard was diving in the same place as this bird, yes apparently in the middle of the night they are here, and they see the bird sleeping, the lizard was quite shocked at the sight, not entirely sure what to do. They tapped the bird's body to try and get it to wake up*

The bird surfaces and just breathes normally, not at all out of breath. "It's nice out here in the ocean, the fish don't exactly make much noise. Makes it pretty easy to sleep underwater, if you can stay down long enough."

*the pain gets tough for the lizard to ignore, and eventually wakes up, almost 2 and a half hours since they had sir, they cover their mouth, looking over at the bird who seems to have no strain at all, they didn't wanna wake up the bird from its peaceful sleep, but as they both still hug each other they don't seem to have a choice...they lightly tap on the bird to get them to wake up*

The rest of the night passes without any issues, though the lizard needs to go breathe a couple times. Finally, sunlight begins to shine into the cave, slowly waking them and the bird.

The bird calmly exhales upon surfacing, still having been under no strain despite having been holding his breath for the better part of the night. "Alright, making an aquatic bed for you... Well, I keep calling it a bedroll, but it's more like a sleeping bag. We'll need a particular kind of seaweed for it, and it'll take a LOT of weaving."

With the seaweed bunched up, the bird swims to the lizard and holds part of the strand vertically, measuring the lizard. After finding the right size, he starts cutting the strand into smaller segments like when he'd gotten it loose, setting each one down on the seabed. (I really had a good time with that! Even without having much breath-related stuff happen, that was great!

Couple things about the bird's history that I wanted to add but never got the chance to: He initially became an "aquatic nomad", as he'd call himself, when he went out swimming one day and decided to just not go back. He also hadn't touched dry land in two weeks)
