I think the orphan one is Nibbles and the French one is Tuffy... I think...

I believe they're both the name characters, it just depends on which adaptation of Tom and Jerry that he has a different name

think there was an episode where Jerry is acting as a scout master and there's two of them. Though I don't know if it's actually them. : /

Yea, Tom and Jerry could have some weird continuity like that. But considering all the times that Tom gets pulverized, blown up, set on fire, and the like, and comes back fine in episodes later, its not that surprising. They aren't really supposed to be connected in any shape or form, like Looney Tunes.
