Yea, Tom and Jerry could have some weird continuity like that. But considering all the times that Tom gets pulverized, blown up, set on fire, and the like, and comes back fine in episodes later, its not that surprising. They aren't really supposed to be connected in any shape or form, like Looney Tunes.
