"Filling ballast"
A dragon-like pool toy floated on the water's surface, looking down below it. They'd always wanted to go underwater, but being full of air made that impossible, not even allowing them to stick their whole head under for more than a moment. Today, they finally had an idea; filling up on some water would do wonders to weigh them down enough! They lowered their head enough to get their mouth underwater, and started to drink. Water splashed against the inside of their latex body with each gulp, and it quickly became easy to keep their head down. As the water level started to pass their eyes, they lifted their head again and watched the water pour into their main body, already sitting slightly lower on the surface. They resumed drinking, now just letting the swallowed water overflow from their neck, slowly getting heavier and smiling as the surface crept up around them.
