"Waterbreathing jet"
A living F-22 Raptor happily cruised about just above the ocean, not really concerned about anything, until he got a low fuel warning. By this point, he was far out in the ocean, and try as he might, he couldn't get back to land before his engines were automatically locked to low power to preserve what fuel he had left, as he wouldn't survive long with them stopped. Gliding for as long as he could, he went lower and slower, until his underside brushed along the water. After a loud gasp, he sealed his air intakes, and sank underwater. This area was fairly shallow, but it didn't matter, as jets like him weren't exactly known to do well underwater.
Pulling out his landing gear, he settled onto the bottom and tried to move, though his wheels just spun uselessly, kicking up sand into a few small clouds. Already, his air storage was nearly out, and a failsafe inside him forced him to gasp, his mouth opening along with his air intakes, now sucking in seawater. He wasn't quite sure how, but he managed to redirect the water to his cockpit, and it quickly burbled up inside as his single long gasp continued. It wasn't going to be long before his cockpit was full, and his engines would sputter and falter as they flooded...
