Barefooted is great on grass, sand, carpets, etc. but it's totally not wise to be on areas that have goatsweed (think tiny caltrops that pierce through calloused feet), forest debris, thorns, hot, dry grass, and especially very hot sidewalks/streets that may have glass also on them... other than that, yes it is fun :)
