In the boreal forest ranges of the Deadshoulder Taiga on the world of Whipvine, The Republic of the Winter exists as a multicultural bastion and the protector of all its people and its harmonious way of life. The Republic, under the guidance of the commissary administrator Athlon, has many foes. Aside from the numerous bands of hostile pirates and renegades, the nation is threatened by the Suicidal Hive, the mechanites, and the many surrounding kobold tribes. Latex protogens make up the bulk of the republic's army. They are primarily manufactured at key sites in the military-industrial settlements of the Republic where random former citizens volunteers are processed to permanently become obedient dedicated latex protogen soldiers.
As seen above, a standard riflefur squadron comprised of a grenadier, a sniper recon with their fox companion formerly a person, 3 riflefurs, a combat drone, and a gunner are patrolling the mountains surrounding the complex and the largest settlements of the Republic.
