The car in the first frame seems to be a Soviet made Tatra sedan. Those cars have the motor in the rear.

I saw videos where the oversteer in fast turns with those cars was notoriously bad because of the weight distribution making the rear end heavy. They'd spin out quickly once they started sliding.

To be exact it's a Tatra T603 which were manufactured in Czechoslovakia from 1956 to 1975

I'll take your word for it.

That motor in the rear is an air cooled V-8 by the way.

I find that most air-cooled engines are in the rear.  Capture more airflow that way I guess.

One Eastern European car that was really cool was the Gaz Volga 23 KGB pursuit edition.

The KGB pursuit edition has the same 5.5 liter V-8 with 4 barrel carburetor as the 5,400 pound Volga limousine has, but the 23 is a much lighter car.  The Volga 23 had a water cooled front engine with rear wheel drive layout.
These were Soviet made cars which were made only for the KGB...Ordinary citizens were forbidden to have possession of one.  I doubt local city police departments were even allowed to have them.

Interesting.  I'll have to keep that one in mind for future stories.
