Camden was always the quiet one. The one who sat in the back of the class. The one who never spoke up. The one who tried to avoid attention at all costs. Growing up in a rural, conservative town was rough if you didn't fit in and, as the only gay guy around, he certainly didn't fit the mold. His interest in fashion and clothing didn't help him at all either. He tried to convince himself that he didn't need friends, that his cloth and his needle and his sewing machine was all he needed in life. A small comfort when he cried himself to sleep at night.
After graduation he ran, leaving his backwater, backwards town to look for greener pastures and brighter days. He ended up in a college town across the state, far more accepting of him and his interests. As a costume maker for the university's theater program, he'd meet his future love. Boisterous, outgoing, and strongly opinionated, Xavier was the exact opposite of the shy retriever boy. As the saying goes, opposites tend to attract and the two had a magnetic attraction for sure. In time they were married and, with the opening of Xavier's club, Camden now works as a tailor and costume designer for the Amethyst.
And number two of the refs I've been hoarding from Personaparadox. This one is of Camden, Xavier's other half. If anyone's read the description for Emily, you'd know that she was an adopt who happened to look quite a bit like how I alread imagined Rorick's older sister. While not exactly the same scenario, Personaparadox made a surprise moodboard ref for me and I knew it was Camden the moment I saw him. Other than his breed, I had never pinned down exactly what he looked like, but there was no doubt it was him. That was the catalyst to get a ref made up for Xavier as well, and now I get to bring these two boys out to play.
